Our miniature schnauzer has never liked wearing anything other than her collar, so I was worried that she wouldn't like being strapped into a backpack. To help warm her up to it, we set it down on the floor, and put treats in random parts of the pack. We did that for about 24 hours before ever trying to get her inside it. When we finally did, she was a bit confused at first (after all, she thought it was just a treat dispenser!), but once I put it on and started rolling down the street on a bicycle with her, she absolutely loved it! She pretty much just sniffs at the air the whole time, much like when we drive in a car with the window down. She hardly ever squirms, so I think she feels comfortable. Now that she's had the bicycling experience, if I start to roll the bike without her, she cries with that "don't leave without me!" sound! Now that we've had the Knavigate for about a month, her disposition toward the pack is much like toward her harness - she still doesn't _love_ the process of putting it on, but she tolerates it because she knows she's going to love what's on the other side. Also, just gotta say - bicycling around town with a mini schnauzer on your back is adorable. People always want to talk with you about it!
