Good option for liver dogs.

I really wanted this food to be the food that my dog would eat. She has a liver shunt and this was recommended as a low protein food comparable to the fresh food I was giving her. She ate it at first but slowly didn’t want to eat it anymore. Not sure if it was the food or just her health condition. I will say that it will only last about 2 days in the fridge after thawing because it is fish based. My 5lb pom serving was not big so it did have to sit in the fridge after opening. The smell isn’t great but you can clearly see most of the ingredients in it which is nice. All in all I want to give this a good score but my dog didn’t want it but it is a nice option for liver compromised dogs ( if they eat it)

Yes, I recommend this product.

My dog ate the food during the 10 day transition period then he wouldn’t touch it so now I’m stuck with $180 worth of frozen food he won’t eat.

Literally a lifesaver

My sweet dog Brodie was diagnosed with liver failure June 2021 with a prognosis of 6 months to live...he wouldn't eat any of the hepatic dry or canned food that are on the market so we struggled to keep his weight up and he was miserable. I got desperate and was making his food but it was becoming time consuming and exhausting since we have 2 other senior pets that have health concerns as well. I heard of JFFD and saw they had a hepatic food. Absolutely life changing.....he devoured this food every single day and was absolutely obsessed with it. We got him back up to his normal weight, gaining 4 whole pounds back. I honestly credit this food for giving Brodie an extra 5 months passed his prognosis...the combo of eating well, meds and vet care gave us extra time with him. He passed last week...all the vet staff were amazed at how well he did for so long after seeing him at his worst.

Yes, I recommend this product.

This diet has worked a miracle for my rescue furbaby! After switching to Just Food For Dogs Hepatic Support, Teddy’s liver levels returned to a normal range after one month. I couldn’t be happier! Plus, he LOVES this food - he literally dances around and barks with excitement while I’m preparing his dish. I highly recommend this diet for any dog with liver issues.

My dog won't eat this after 10 days of transitioning him to this food. Does Petco honor the company's 100% satisfaction guarantee.

After MONTHS of waiting, I FINALLY got a shipment of this food. Thank goodness, because my dog has been sick. However, why has the price of the food gone up by 50%?!? That is a HUGE increase in price. This is absurd! WHY?

    1. Smaller companies are having trouble getting supplies also shipping prices have been raised on them. I know of two companies that have already gone out of business or has discontinued canned food because of all that’s going on. I have two large dogs on this food, they do very well on it even though it’s really !expensive. But at least it’s real food and not a lot of garbage like some pet foods

haven't been able to get the hepatic formula for months now, vet ready and willing to give prescription, but every time I try to order it's out of stock. Any idea when I can actually order this product, or pick it up at Petco?

    1. I’m not sure where you’re located but I had to travel to Austin from San Antonio. They can ship it from Austin but only in large quantities.

I am trying to find the price for 14 oz of Hepatic diet by JustFoodsForDogs to be shipped to the Petco in North West Bakersfield, CA. I would be purchasing this for sometime. It has been recommended by Yorkies Internal Medicine doctor.
