Charli loves it when warmed up a little!

My 12 yr. Old dog was recently diagnosed with kidney disease. My vet enthusiastically approved this food (frozen) and gave me a prescription. My dog sadly only has 2 teeth left so initially she rejected the food some. Once I warmed it up she has been eating it enthusiastically. I’ll be having her labs checked in a month or so and will update this review with the results. I’ve had zero problem with its quality at my PETCO and I’m delighted to find a fresh renal support food for her!

Yes, I recommend this product.

Arrived Rotten and Full of Mold

This arrived unopened and undamaged but the food was rotten and moldy inside. Gross! This food is way too expensive for this to happen.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Why did you pull this from the shelves?

Petco has stopped making this product available in store forcing the consumer to buy 12 boxes at a time and it must be shipped. At least in my area. How is that fair? Please put it back on the shelves.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Lots of rice

Travels with dogs

My dog has never been a fan of rice, so this was a bit of a challenge. We have been feeding it mixed with frozen which she loves and she is eating the mix well. We have tried many canned renal diets and she hates them. It is confusing with the label that says intermittent or supplemental feeding. We see the vet next week for a follow up test and we will see how it goes and how we should be using this.

Yes, I recommend this product.

This food saves the life of my dog, who is seriously ill. He has been buying it for over a year and it works very well. The only problem is the price, it is very expensive.

Does this require a prescription from a vet? Can it be purchased at a local store without one?

  1. This does not require a vet prescription.

is this the same as the frozen one you sell ?

  1. No, this is not the frozen JFFD renal support food. It's pantry fresh in a box. I keep it on hand in case I run out of the frozen or for emergencies (if the power goes out, etc). My dog loves it.

Can this product be picked up in the store?

  1. Not all store locations carry it, I had to drive about 1.5 hours to one that did.
