Dogs loved it

My dogs loved the taste but the food did not love them. Two dogs with allergies weaned off the famous allergy med reacted to the food. I had high hope reading reviews that this would work. Oh well back to making it myself

The beef recipe has too much potatoes. It smells like dog food. My dog tolerated it

Beef and Russet potato pantry fresh

My dogs love this food. The favor I'm feeding is the beef and russet pot. I use it as a topper in addition to dry dog food. Since its shelf stable until it's open it works well for storage.

Our rescue poodles, 12yo 10lb mini (Gabby) and 9yo 6lb toy (Truffles) love their new food! Maintaining target weights, good poops, clean their bowls morning and evening. Our Vet is very happy with them, too. THANKS!

Rylee loves this! She had

Rylee loves this! She had to start taking some heart meds and the side effects have played havoc on her appetite. Our little wiennie Myer is on the hepatic for liver disease so we thought why not give her a try at some fresh! She gobbles it up! Was wondering why it's so much lighter in color than the pic on the box but she eats it nonetheless!

Questions

1 - 10 of 11 Questions

When I see the ad for this on YouTube it is presented as something to add to kibble but everything I read talks about transitioning. I already feed my dogs a little kibble with fresh chicken and like to supplement with something else so will this work?

  1. Just Food for Dogs makes Toppers…this is a whole meal not a topper that you add to kibble. Look for Toppers…they come is Beef and Chicken. I guess you could use this as a topper but it’s thinker and has more calories than the topper

Can I purchase a variety of flavors of food for dogs

  1. Yes they have several options

I have a 2 month old puppy. Can she eat just for food?

  1. I would call and ask, I’m sure it probably can but pups need certain nutrients so  justfoodsfordogs can help in which kind and how much for your puppy.  Here is their number (866) 726-9509

We have some 7 week old puppies and they have diarrhea with all dry dog food except hamburger, rice, eggs diet. Is this dog food good to feed to a puppy?

  1. Just food for dogs have live vets and or associates that can answer your questions. Please call them directly. Good food over all. Our pup has been on the same diet for 8 years.

The frozen JustFoodForDogs Frozen Fresh Beef and Russet Potato Dog Food says GRAIN FREE but is the tetra-pak Fresh Beef and Russet Potato also grain free? Didn't see anything on the labels as I was zooming in and out to research.

  1. It is grain free. The back of the box (lower right) says grain free and gluten free. I did notice the online image and the actual product (I buy every 2 weeks in store) are slightly different. But it’s grain free

How is this considered a healthier choice when the protein is only 12% and the bulk of the ingredients are carbohydrates (potatoes <2x!>, carrots, peas, apples, potato starch)? Too many carbs induce obesity, diabetes, cancer and more; how is this better?

  1. Talk to your veterinarian about how much protein dogs require.  Contrary to the belief of many dogs, like humans, are omnivores, not carnivores like cats.  I prefer the chicken and rice variety of Just Food for Dogs better than the beef variety.  My dog has lost weight on the chicken/rice variety and she is absolutely healthy.  I urge you to try it.  It's the best food I have found, short of making it myself.  It is expensive though/

How many packages are in a box? I see there are 12 boxes in a case. Trying to figure out how much I need for 2 dogs 50 & 57 lbs.

We have 2 German Shepherds. 85 lbs and 60 lbs. How many cups a day would we need?

I have a 4 pound chihuahua, so this should last over a month right? Can this stay in the pantry without needing to be put in the freezer or fridge?

      1. Each carton only needs to be refrigerated when opened and it says to consume within 5 days after opening. I'm not 100% sure how long it would last. It depends on the age and activity level of your dog. Based on my calculations, 12 cartons would usually last over a month for a 4 pound chihuahua.

Do you need to cook this food? Do you serve it as is? What are the cooking directions for this dog food?

      1. No cooking needed. Basically it's high end canned food but better
