Questions
Does this mix tell you how much of the meat and vegetables to use per package? Im wanting to try this but i didn't see anywhere that stated how much meat and vegetables to use per package?
- Yup! There is a recipe card you can download that tells you exactly how much to use of what. I find a food processor and instant pot the easiest way to cook everything.

Does this contain taurine?
- It is not listed as an ingredient.

Could you send me the Crock Pot recipe for the CHICKEN and RICE for DIY Kit? Also, can you substitute Chicken Breast for some of the Chicken Legs or Thighs in Recipe?
- You probably need to contact Just Food 4 Dogs directly to get those answers. (949) 722-3647 or (866) 423-9405. They are open 7 days a week.

Can blueberries be substituted for the apple in the chicken formula? How long can the DYI food be kept in the freezer? Can you send me the crock pot recipe?
- I didn't think there could be substitutions. I would guess how long is lasts in the freezer depends on how well it's packaged. Wish I had the crock pot recipe also. I would imagine you were hoping for a response from the manufacturer.

I got the chicken and rice canister. Can I substitute the rice for quinoa? I do not believe starch is good for dogs.
- Contact Just Food For Dogs directly about that. They are very responsive. I use the Chicken and Rice and the Turkey and Noodle. I do mix things up a bit depending on available ingredients. https://www.justfoodfordogs.com/contact-us/

We are using our Instapot, cooking the large recipe for three pups every other day. I noticed someone asked a question above regarding a specific recipe that is available for that appliance. Could you please send that along?

The JustFoodForDogs Chicken and White Rice recipe is very similar to a recipe I have been using and supplement with organic turmeric and powdered egg shells. Does the calcium in this blend meet the daily requirement?
- This is completely balanced to AAFCO standards for every nutrient dogs need as long as you follow the recipe perfectly!

can this be used with other DIY dog food recipes or this specific recipe?
- My dog didn’t like the fish recipe. My husband also didn’t like how cooking the fish smelled up the house. So I asked JustFoodForDogs fish would be close to balanced with another recipe, just to use it up some other way. It did not get a personalized reply. Just a it won’t be balance with any other recipe. They did send me a free DYI chicken (my dog’s favorite).

Can you freeze the food you make?
- Absolutely! I make the full batches according to the recipe included in the canister and it is enough for two medium (50 lb) dogs to last for a bout 7 days worth of dinners. I only feed this as a meal (2 cups each dog) once a day but have dry food available at other times. I keep a couple of days worth of food in the fridge and freeze the rest in measured bowls. I take out a freezer bowl every time I use up a bowl from the fridge. Good Luck, my dogs absolutely love their much healthier home made food!
