Good tank, but not great

The quality of this all-in-one tank is good: the seals between glass and plastic are well done; the pump is quiet; and the lid is substantial (no flimsy plastic) and it has brackets to hold it open when you work inside. The shape is good if you want to dedicate more space to the vertical water column and less to the substrate and decor. I gave this 4 stars for two reason: 1) It has two lighted modes--bright day and a dark blue-lit night--that are controlled manually with two toggle switches (which are a little confusing at first). If your fish and plants prefer lower light, you would have to use floating plants as a screen. 2) The outflow between the tank and the left media chamber is at the top of the tank. I didn't fill the tank quite far enough when I first set it up and the pump chamber went dry. Have to keep this thing topped up. These aren't deal-breakers. I still like the tank, but the light issue is annoying. JBJ has fixed this in their newer model Nano Cube.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Not sure how I feel about my new aquarium. I like the idea of having the lights and filter all build into one. But being limited to the location of access to the filters from the back only, I had to rethink where to place the aquarium. I should have purchased the larger size but this will be okay. I love the curved sides and night light, beautiful.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Doe anyone know where I can purchase the led replacement bulbs? The manufacturer has been oddly unhelpful and googling the specs on them doesn't pull anything up.

Does it come with a protein skimmer?

How well will this work for saltwater? Lights able to handle corals?

      1. You can make any size aquarium a saltwater tank. My Nano tank is 24 gallons. Its been perfect for corals, which I have 3 and the lights are bright enough to do so. I also have a plant which is thriving. Since the temperature is important for a saltwater tank, the lights are so bright that it heats up the water too much so I presently have the lid prompted up to take some heat off the water. I do have a long legged shrimp and a small inexpensive fish currently in the tank. All is good, Hope this helps.
