Hey there! I've got a large Ragdoll (we think) cat that is roughly 10 years old who stopped using his litterbox for anything other than urine starting about 6 weeks ago. Always at night, when we're asleep, usually every 2-4 days, he goes on a binge poop, dropping of "presents" (ranging from hard/dry to wet/soft) on our front porch mat, my office rug, the hardwood floors along a wall, by the litterbox, on the rug by his feeder. No changes to clean litter situation or diet in over a year.
I have a cat who seems to be refusing to use the litter boxes. He is older(over 14). I clean the boxes every other day. We have tried attractants, putting a car mat down, cleaning the boxes themselves, using odor/pheromone 'destroyers', and yet he still peed on the mat. I use the Arm & Hammer clump and seal for litter. What more can I do? Should I remove a couple of the doors on the covered boxes? Should I clean the boxes daily? What can I do?
Hope do I get my 6mo old kitten to stop doing potty outside of the cat box? I got a huge litter box , he only pees in it towards the edge but potty is outside.
My cat, Freya, is about 3.5 years old. She has always been confident in our house. Freya always make litter fly out of her litter box. Hi! My kitten is 8 months old, we’ve had him for 6 months, adopted from a shelter. He was litter box trained when he arrived and we haven’t had any accidents until now. He has peed off the side of the box twice and is now pooping near but not inside the box. This has never been an issue. I’ve ordered a larger litter box as I’ve read that could be the issue. I’m also using the same brand of litter with a different scent, which could maybe also be the issue. I can’t tell if he’s stressed or not!
