My cats love this food. They enjoy any Instinct product.

I am concerned about the inclusion of canola oil in your ingredients in the Instinct Raw Boost Grain Free Dry Cat Food. Your product is marketed as: • High animal-protein, grain-free, boosted nutrition with bites of freeze-dried raw meat. • Wild-caught salmon as the first ingredient, packed with animal protein for strong, lean muscles. • Freeze-dried raw, minimally processed bites of real beef. • Probiotic boost, higher Omegas, and more antioxidants for digestive health, healthy skin, and immune health. • Made without grain, potato, corn, wheat, soy, by-product meal, artificial colors, or preservatives. • Made in the USA with the finest ingredients from around the world. These claims strongly resonate with pet owners like me who prioritize high-quality, biologically appropriate diets for our cats. However, the use of canola oil seems inconsistent with this positioning. As obligate carnivores, cats thrive on animal-based proteins and fats. While canola oil is not toxic, it lacks the essential nutrients cats require, such as arachidonic acid, which is naturally found in animal fats. Additionally, plant-based oils like canola oil are less optimal for supporting a cat’s overall health compared to animal-based alternatives. Including canola oil in a product marketed as "high animal-protein" and "boosted nutrition" dilutes the perceived quality of your offerings. Replacing it with animal-derived oils, such as salmon oil or chicken fat, would better align with the product’s stated benefits and cater to the nutritional needs of our feline companions. As a committed customer who values transparency and quality, I urge you to consider reformulating your recipes to eliminate canola oil in favor of more species-appropriate alternatives. This change would not only enhance the nutritional value of your products but also further solidify your reputation as a leader in premium pet nutrition. Both of our 1 year old cats starting having digestion issues from the kitten food they had been eating. Since it was about time to switch them to adult food anyway, we started feeding them Instinct Original Salmon about 4 weeks ago. They DEVOUR this food, and we have not found a single pile of throw up since switching.

I have three rescue cats with a variety of "newly rescued" problems - digestion, skin & coat - but since we started feeding this food to them, they have all improved. The oily, dandruffy coat is much better and the digestion issues are improving as well. One of the problems we were having was that the volume of the old food was giving the cats nasty poop, but because we can feed less of this food, but they still get all the nutrients they need. But because it is such a good quality and high meat, they don't need as much. The result, better poops. Also, even though it is fish, it doesn't have the gag factor of some other fish foods.

Great stuff! My kitties love it! (so do my dogs, so,I have to keep them ayway!).

So far my Cat and neighbor Cat who comes to me for food, are not going after the Real Salmon flavor. They seems to like the Chicken flavor better. I am going to keep trying to offer them the Salmon flavor and see if they get used to it. Meantime, I also have the Chicken flavor on hand, as well. They both like the Chicken flavor.
