Ideal feeding amounts will vary by age, weight, and activity level so the guide below should be used as an initial recommendation. Divide the cups per day by the number of feedings per day. Be sure to always provide clean, fresh water. Along with dry food, we recommend feeding raw or wet food to help increase the amount of water in your pet's diet. Daily Feeding Guidelines (standard 8 oz dry measuring cup): Adult Maintenance (cups per day): 5 lb: 3/8 cup; 10 lb: 5/8 cup; 15 lb: 7/8 cup, Weight Loss (cups per day): 5 lb: 1/4 cup; 10 lb: 3/8 cup; 15 lb: 5/8 cup, Kittens: Feed up to twice the adult maintenance amount. Pregnant/Nursing Females: Feed up to three times the adult maintenance amount shown above. Transitioning to Instinct: Always introduce a new food over a period of 5 to 7 days, mixing increasing amounts of Instinct with the current food each day.

Bring back the 5 lb bags!!!!

GTEB

My kitty loved this LI turkey dry food years ago. But when the smaller bags were discontinued I had to switch to a different brand of LI food. Now years later this other company I relied on has turned up different; so I've returned to Instinct this week and had no option but to order the 11 lb bag. Whoaaaa! I did not imagine it was this huge. It is too big for one cat to go through when she primarily eats wet food. The kibble is only supplemental and she is 8 lbs, not a beagle! I would rather pay extra for small bags that will NOT go STALE!!! (Please don't tell me to out in Tupperware type container. The bag is still outrageously large. She is a cat not a Labrador). I really hope she will like this food again. Please reconsider making the small bags again! I don't know what you do if someone returns a bag after opening because their pet did not like it. The huge bag is trashed?! What a WASTE and another reason you should make small bags available. Also please please think about making your kibble smaller and thinner for cats with dental issues. For reference check out Nulo brands dry cat food.. the perfect size!

Great food for IBD cat

Stef8

I have 6 cats that are free fed dry food (and given wet once a day). It's not an easy task to find something that all cats like. After many food trials for my one IBD cat who gets soft stool, the limited ingredient Turkey was a hit! His stool is now normal, with an occasional flair up (treated with meds), the other 5 cats' poops are great, and they all look healthy and happy. Even my other cat with occasional UTI's hasn't had a flair up. The ingredients are great with real Turkey and missing many of the ingredients that could be a trigger for sensitive stomachs, such as corn, wheat, soy, chicken, fish, potato, grains. It is on the pricey side, but I was desperate to find a food that would work with all 6 cats. I also like the fact the kibbles are coated with freeze dried turkey, and it has one vegetable. They seem to eat less because they fill up quicker with the high quality and seem to poop less yet maintain good weight and fur. The rabbit version is pricier, and I couldn't deal with the smell of the poop, so the Turkey version is great! I highly recommend it!

Yes, I recommend this product.

Only kibble my cat eats but can't get 5 lb bags

I feed wet and dry food. My cat with a lot of food allergies is on an LID diet and has loved this for years. We rely on it to supplement his low variety LID wet food options. It's really unfortunate the LUD turkey kibble seems to have been discontinued. There isn't another option on the market for him to replace this.

I have cats with various food allergies (potato, pinto bean, flax, beef liver, oatmeal to name a few) and instinct LID foods are the only OTC food I've found that checks all the boxes of being safe for my cats to eat and also a food they all love. Please never stop making them
