Instant Ocean Reef Crystals Reef Salt is formulated especially for use in reef aquariums. It contains essential ocean reef elements in concentrations greater than those found in natural sea water. Extra calcium encourages the growth of large and small polyp stony corals (LPS and SPS) as well as coralline algae. Extra trace elements provide an additional measure of vital nutrients, and extra vitamins help to promote vigorous growth and survival of corals, anemones and other invertebrates in a captive environment. Neutralizes traces of heavy metals often present in tap water.

Mix Instant Ocean Reef Crystals Reef Salt with ordinary dechlorinated tap water - use 1/2 cup per gallon of water. Stir vigorously to ensure a good mix. Use immediately or aerate the water until it achieves oxygen/carbon dioxide equilibrium. See product label for complete use directions.

Questions
Will this mess with my nitrate nitrite and pH levels?
- This will adjust the pH to the appropriate level for marine animals which is 8.3. It will not increase or decrease nitrite or nitrate levels. Those are controlled by nitrifying bacteria and partial water changes, etc.

How long can this store for?
- It has no shelf life as long as it stays dry and is stored in an airtight container, it will last.

I'm looking to make my 60 gallon into a saltwater tank and was wondering do i just need this, or this plus the salt for the water?
- This is a salt mix, intended for reef tanks. If you plan to have fish only or fish with live rock, Instant Ocean would be the correct one to use, instead of Reef Crystals.
