Buyer Beware!

And beware of impulse purchases... Of course I finally assembled this just _after_ the 60 day return period. ::insert eye-roll here:: One of the bolts for anchoring the top shelf was entirely the wrong size. Assembly was a bit fussy but easy (a cheap version of the popular flat-pack furniture) until it wasn't--a couple of the nuts did not sit properly at first and the wood cracked around the holes when attempting to insert and tighten the bolts. Reseating them correctly helped relieve the stress but it is still to be seen how these cracks will affect the stand under the weight of a full tank (at least 250lbs for a 29gal with water and substrate). I'm not sure I'll use this for the aquarium I had intended it for; if I decide for safety's sake (of aquarium inhabitants and my floor) to not use it to hold a large tank of water, it should work well enough for a terrarium, and otherwise it will still make a pretty, if expensive, household shelf. There is definitely a need for a anti-tip safety feature; there is none and the only warning is in the fine print: "For additional stability, we recommend placing product against a wall or in a corner." Not adequate in the least; products like this are typically *attached* to a wall. Note also that the item is made of wood and compressed wood, and there are cautions against getting it too wet. For an aquarium stand... ::insert another eye roll::

Pretty easy to assemble. Looks good for its price, does not look like it can actually hold a 20g aquarium tho (or not a for a long time at least lol) definitely not with everything that goes inside the tank. I’ll be using it for a 5g, maybe 10g

What are the dimensions of the shelves? I am wanting a 10 gallon tank on top then on the second shelf my carnivorous plant terrarium so I'm wondering if it will fit? Thanks

  1. Hi jack21, Good day! Please see dimensions below: Length 24.75 IN Height 30.25 IN Width 12.75 IN Thanks

Will this support a 20G tank on top and a 5G on the middle shelf?

  1. I use the 2 bottom shelves for storage. The top shelf feels thicker then the other 2 shelves. it should hold a 5 gallon tank nothing else.

Will this hold a 20 Gallon long?

  1. There is maybe an inch on either side of the 20 gallon.

How can i add the promo code?

  1. When you are checking out. Usually when you input your payment method.

Does This Hold a 20 Gallon Long Tank ?

  1. I don’t think so. I have the standard 20 gallon and it fits perfectly.

What material is this stand made of? It says wood but doesn’t specify what kind.

  1. It's a laminate and it peels up at edges.

Will it hold three 20 gal tall tanks? They’re 24 by 12. Wanted to stack them.

  1. No, the stand is a little wobbly, so I wouldn't try it.

This stand is advertised for 20 gal high aquariums, wet weight capacity is rated at only 180 lbs. A quick Google search informs me that a glass tank full of water that size would weigh 225 lbs. Is this really meant for a 20 gal aquarium?

  1. I have my 20 gallon set up as a salt water aquarium and I use that stand and it works great no issues

Can I find the assembly instructions online?  Mine did not come with directions.

  1. You should probably call Petco customer service since it's their product.

Could this handle a 20 gallon Extra High tank?  That’s basically two 10 gallon tanks atop each other.

  1. Yes. It’s designed for a 20 gallon high.
