This item does not work for turtle food. Once its filled it turns over. Also it floats over to the filter and spills over and all the food falls out at once.

The feeder was not a good option for my 2 adult RES, nor my little one. We wanted something that would keep the tank cleaner. The holes were too large and food fell out. Tank became dirty at first feeding.

I have a 4 shrimp tanks and I ordered some plants which had some little pond snails. These things multiply faster than my shrimp so I used these to trap the snails then fed them to my cichlids.
