We recommend 1-1.5 pounds of substrate per gallon of your aquarium to achieve 2'' substrate. Place sand into a separate container (not your aquarium) to thoroughly rinse sand prior to placing into your aquarium. This will reduce cloudiness when placing into your aquarium, but not all dust or debris will be removed from the initial rinse. We recommend rinsing 2 or 3 times prior to placing sand in the aquarium. What remains will settle or be consumed by your filtration.
Caution: Not Suitable For Children. Rinse Well With Water Before Placing In Aquarium.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Currently I am using calcium sand. It doesn’t seem to be effecting Ash at all. Should I continue to use the sand or get something else such as eco earth?
I am setting up a new habitat for my 2 sibling gerbils. I want it to be as natural of a habitat as their ancestors in the wild live in. Which substrate would you recommend that would be as natural as they would receive in their desert environment?
Can Betta fish tank have sand from river?
Can you use sand from the beach to add to your freshwater aquarium, if its sanitize?
Rust colored algae in both of my 10 gallon tanks after switching from gravel to sand substrate. What can I do?
first of all, thanks for your advice with my african dwarf frogs! after the aquarium salt bath they are doing great and even look more vibrant now! i was wanting to know what substrate would be best in the tank. would sand be okay or would they eat that like the gravel? i have a heavily planted aquarium and need something to keep the plants in place but i dont want my frogs to eat it and have something happen to them. i find conflicting information when i research it online. thanks!
We’ve recently bought a pet snail and I’m wondering if we should put calcium rich sand on the bottom of the tank we have some made for hermit crabs and I feel as though he shouldn’t be submerged in water all the time so should I put some down or is he fine? I’m unsure of what type of snail he is but the person at the shop said he was a cold water snail I think
SO i am thinking about getting a leopard gecko, but i am not spending a ridiculous amount of money on a cage so i am using a plastic laundrey hamper that seems about maybe 10 gallons and i am setting up little hiddy spots and stuff but i dont know wha tbeedding i should use and how much light they need please hep :)
Hello, Cat litter isnt easily available in the place where I live, so we have trained our cats to use sand(regular clean sand used) for toilet purposes. Unfortunately, that is becoming a commodity of limited supply. The good news is that we live near the beach, so provided I change the litter two times in a day, can I use beach sand as litter adjacent? Also any idea as how to clean beach sand to remove any contingent bacteria or such, which in God's Grace should be none. Thank you. God Bless.
I just purchased Imagitarium Ammonia-Reducing filter media cubes from Petco and there are no instructions for how to use. I have a 5 gallon tank with a submerged Built-in filtration system how many cubes do I use and how do I put them in my filter? Please provide the instructions thank you for your time.
I recently got some hermit crabs. The nearest pet store to me is an hour away so I made a visit to purchase supplies. But I didn't get as much substrate as I needed, unfortunately. I was planning to go and get more when I had the chance. But I believe my largest crab is molting, it's trying to dig underground but there's not yet enough substrate for him to really bury himself yet. I know you should not bother a molting crab, but if I buy more substrate should I put it in there with him or wait
My dog got into "Safer Brand Diatomaceous Earth Tierra Diatomácea" what do i do?!?!
