I haven't purchased this item but I've done my research on good substrates to use for leopard geckos specifically. Calcium sand can cause calcium intoxication from your pet eating it too much, and it can cause impaction. Impaction is when the sand builds up in your pet's stomach and gut and eventually kills them. Often times, once they start showing signs of it, its already too late for them. This goes for any type of sand substrate, including non-calcium sand types. Please educate yourselves on what kind of substrates are safe for your pets before you make purchases!

Looks good, works well. Clumps up with moisture, east to scoop clean. It does eventually get into everything (food and water dishes), but luckily it is easily cleaned. We’ve used it for about a year with our 3 year old dragon with no impaction issues. Much easier to clean and looks much nicer than reptile carpet!

No, I do not recommend this product.
