Calcium and alkalinity tests simply do not appear to work. Bottles are well within the expiration date on the bottom, but carefully following all of the instructions step by step didn’t work. On the kh it immediately changed to yellow indicating a dkh of 4, where Salifert shows 8.3. Calcium never changed color even after adding over 30 reagent drops to the tube. I tried it twice to be sure. I don’t have a way to do comparison tests with other tests, but if those don’t work at all how can I rely on the others? I was expecting it to be a bit less accurate due to its lower cost, but there’s a limit.

Looks amazing! I certainly have no idea, yet, how to use it and hopefully i can figure it out quiet easy. Making the vials are not hard at all, but i have no idea what ranges the water should be in or what's good/ bad.

The bottled test kits always want you to use 10 drops per solution for testing. I am not thrilled with the type of test kit. However, this test kit is easy to use and bottles only require a light squeeze to get the drops out. The test tubes made of glass, and have a clear mark of how much water to add. Some others are not as prominent. It comes with 4 diffrent test kit instructions for each test. One thing i do not like is if you are a novice at fish keeping there is nothing to tell you how to fix tank water. Example: high nitrates do a water change. If that was added to sheets would probably give a higher rating. All in all testing this way is a bit more accurate than the test strips.
