Acceptable price On Sale

I got this on a Petco sale online. It’s alright for the time being, will definitely built my own stand when I have the time. The dowel pins are too small for the dowel holes, the screws were also too small in width for their designated holes. So caution, you will need wood glue make the stand more sturdy and also let glue dry for at least 24 hours before setting your fish tank up. I will be making a top to set above the existing MDS veneered top, prevent any moisture from touching the stands’ veneered MDS top panel. I give it 3 stars bc it works, not a long term solution, but for the price I could make it work for now. If I had bought it full price, I would have returned it though, on sale it was acceptable.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Junk, rickety and wobbly

Looks nice but entirely inadequate to safely support a 29 gallon aquarium. The stand bends and flexes and leans with the slightest force. Moderate weight on the center of the stand will cause the doors to be stuck shut or prevent them from closing. The frame is not real wood.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Great Stand / On-Sale

I read the reviews and decided to take a chance. With any wood type cabinets or IKEA type furniture wood glue is your friend. I build this by myself in about an hour. For anyone saying it is flimsy I could see where it might not be rock solid without glue. Wood glue is cheap insurance. You would not want to try to disassemble the stand after but then again you would not want to do that anyway as it would make everything that much looser. These stands are not cheap as in price. But they are also not particle board as others have stated. I got mine at a good sale price.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Very unstable, I wouldn’t put a 10 gallon tank on it thought it claims it can hold a 29 gallon. Returned immediately.

Website states that this is espresso, it's definitely not, more of a red cherry. I am returning it.

I have been eyeing this cabinet for awhile, as i am in the planning stages of setting up a 20gal aquarium. Was excited when i saw it on sale, and snatched it up. Set up is not quite your average ikea assembly, you will definitely need a drill for all the wood screws. My complaint was the places for dowels on the bottom panel were too large for them, and then i had a difficult time getting the nut and machine screw to line up. even when I finally did, it still flaps a bit and isn’t entirely flush in the back corner. Which probably will be fine, i wont be able to move the cabinet with a 200+ lb tank on top so maybe it wont be a problem. Likely tomorrow i will be making a run to a hardware store to get some pieces to reinforce those corners and side panels. Which will be convenient because i will also have to pick up some shelving tabs because petco is so cheap they only give you EXACTLY the amount of dowels, screws, etc you will need, so good luck when quality control fails and you end up with shelf tabs/pegs with no tabs on the end! Not to mention the tape on the back veneer panel i took it off because it was ugly and had to retape a corner because i pulled off some of the panel….so, dont do what i did! Leave the tape on, apparently. Perhaps im just expecting too much from companies these days. Once its assembled, it does look like the picture, after all, and sits level. I do like that the frame is wood, and the color is nice. The cabinets secure nicely and the access in the back is very convenient. So not all went wrong, in the end.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Absolute trash

This stand is absolutely trash. It is so flimsy, I can't believe they are charging what they do. You can build a superior stand for 1/5th of the cost. Or, buy a metal stand. I would have had they not been out of stock.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Bought 2 of these and they worked out great for what I needed. Not too bad to put together and seems plenty sturdy enough to me.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Could this be used for a 30 gal fish tank?

Is the rear of the stand solid wood or particle board? If I get one, I'd possibly want to cut larger access holes in rear.

    1. Hi psness. It is made of Medium Density Fibreboard ( MDF ). Thanks,

Does the brand Aqueon work with this?

    1. The top is a solid piece, not a frame like some aquarium stands. Furniture is not brand specific, use whatever fits.

What is the weight limit? Two legs are cracking and it's not even 2 weeks old.

    1. This is one of the best stands for price and quality I have had it set mine set up now for 5 years with a 20 gal tank the legs are adjustable to absolutely keep it level from side to side and front to back all tanks need a levelling mat placed under tank no matter what size aquarium its to equalize voids and pressure points on the bottom of tank it’s sold at Petco stores or on line it a must to have this item before adding water and contents into tank this stand is very stable I used wood glue on all joints and dial wood pins prior to tightening all factory turn locking clamps do not spill water on this stand as with any stand and do not place on carpet as it will not be level or stable take one’s time to do it right and you will have a quality stable stand with no leg issues I truly love the stand

What is the weight of the stand itself?

    1. Hi HeavenlyDi, The weight is 17.6kgs for the stand itself, Thanks,

I'm looking to get a 29 gallon fish tank and stand. are all the tanks standard , I noticed some may not fit every stand. Help.

    1. 29 is a standard size

What are the interior dimensions of the cabinet?  I would like to try to fit a Fiji Cube Sump (12” x 12.5” x 14”) underneath.

    1. That should fit. The dimensions are - 12”(D) x 26”(W) x 25”(H). This is when you don’t put the middle shelf.

How sturdy is this on carpet I was wondering because it would be in my room and I have a toddler

    1. Very Sturdy just make sure that your pump is at least 4 inches from the wall so air gets behind the tank. Even the carpet was not matted when we moved it

What is the dimension of this stand? I can’t find it in the product details.

    1. 12 3/4, 30 1/2 and 30 (D, W, H)

I have a 37 gallon taller which is 4 " taller than a 29 gallon tank . otherwise the length and the width are the same will it support my 37 gallon tank ? I think it would weigh about 370 lbs.

    1. HI Lala Lou , It is designed to hold 29 gallon tanks. Thanks,
