Currently I am using calcium sand. It doesn’t seem to be effecting Ash at all. Should I continue to use the sand or get something else such as eco earth?
I bought my leopard gecko a few weeks ago and as recomended by my local Petco associate I used sand in his tank. Last night I feed him some crickets and when I went to check on him this morning his gut is FILLED with bright green sand! Will his gut get impacted? What steps can I take to help him?
We’ve recently bought a pet snail and I’m wondering if we should put calcium rich sand on the bottom of the tank we have some made for hermit crabs and I feel as though he shouldn’t be submerged in water all the time so should I put some down or is he fine? Hi, my hatchling red foot tortoise has a problem with keeping his eyes open for very long, he hasn't been eating as much as usual and when he closes his eyes I have to soak him in water to get him to open them back up. When his eyes close it almost looks like they are crusty. I have a cypress mulch and jungle mix substrate in his cage which is about 4 inches at the highest and 1 inch in his basking are but it's kept well watered. Thank You!
I recently got some hermit crabs. The nearest pet store to me is an hour away so I made a visit to purchase supplies. But I didn't get as much substrate as I needed, unfortunately. I was planning to go and get more when I had the chance. But I believe my largest crab is molting, it's trying to dig underground but there's not yet enough substrate for him to really bury himself yet. I know you should not bother a molting crab, but if I buy more substrate should I put it in there with him or wait
