It works. It does what it was meant to do. I placed it in a 32 gallon, and my surface was cleaned within 5 minutes. It is ultra quiet, very compact, adjustable flow, and it blends very well into the background due to its black color. Additionally, it comes with optional attachments that do a great job at directing flow. Don't be fooled by marketing from the more expensive name brands and spend an unnecessary amount of money. This surface skimmer was inexpensive and offers the same quality and features as those more expensive name brands. My only nitpick is I wish the silver logo on the front was either black, located somewhere else other than the front, or not there at all. For the price, it can't be beat!

This doesn't do much for the light oily film in my 29 gal. This oily film is a fairly recent issue. However I'll be keeping this. It does add some circulation and the air injection is a plus. It's not possible to use the direction adjustable fan tip and the air injection together unless you make some type of connector yourself. So bubble streaming is straight out only. The adjustment for adding bubbling air is pretty difficult to adjust, but you'll eventually get it. When adjusted for lower air bubbling, it kind of 'puffs' streams of tiny bubbles. Almost an on/off cycling.

Works amazing in my 20 gallon. Pulls the floating leaves and residue around the water surface. Will be purchasing again.
