Filtration is CRAP

Frank1234

I bought this two weeks ago and the water has been murky since. I don't know what is going on, I've changed the water 3 times in 2 weeks. Have a snail and it is cleaning the walls and everything so it's not algae growth. Also had to go to Amazon to get filter D because Petco is out of them.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Wrong tube for pump

Cathyfish

I have had this aquarium & the 3 gallon as well, I recently moved out of state, so I had to start all over. I opened box to find wrong size tube for the pump. The manager at the Greenville, Texas store would not honor it. I was told to go to Home Depot to get the right size tube, that is unacceptable……..

No, I do not recommend this product.

Was given an incorrect size lid!

I brought this home today and was excited to set it up. The only issue is I received a lid that is too small. I don't know if this is a manufacturer error but this is unusable with the smaller lid I was given. Looks nothing like the lid on the box. The gaps are way too big and I'm pretty sure any fish I add will just jump out.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Awesome tank with just a couple of modifications.

I’ve had many tanks over the years range from 5 gallons to 55 gallons and this is my favorite by far. The design is very aesthetically pleasing. My only gripe would be the filtration although I just got a 5 gallon aquatop pisces and this tanks filtration puts that to shame. Honestly if you don’t like the included filter media, just swap it with your media of choice where it fits. I also upgrade the pump to a 90gph one off Amazon. I also got a 3D printed nozzle to diffuse the flow for my betta. The light is honestly strong enough for pretty much anything you can throw at it. Another tip would be to attach a clear 3M hook to the glass lid to make it easier to remove when doing maintenance. For the price you can not beat this setup and would another one in a heartbeat!

Yes, I recommend this product.

Not a bad little tank for the price.

Purchased almost 4 weeks ago. Question the way some of the baffles are situated. Pump must also be attached on side rather than flat on the bottom. Which makes sense because the adjustment to increase or decrease flow is on the side of pump where the intake is. Corner filter sponges are also a little loose. Made a few changes and ditched the carbon filter. Replaced with other filter media and bio media, and then topped corner filters with cut to fit Poly Filter media.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Exceptional nano tank

AZAquaMan

This was actually one of my most successful nano tanks. I kept a mystery snail, a female betta, some shrimp , live plants and otocinclus. I love the curved glass and the all in one filter system. Once the tank was cycled, i really had very little maintenance. I made some modifications to the filter media and lighting though.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Neat tank needs reworked

Otter17689

The rounded corners o. The front look great it’s built tough but the filter that’s built in really needs to be removed and replaced with a hanging filter or under gravel the one that’s built in takes up a ton of room the light is cool but should have a dimmer setting on the white light. Also the glass cover is just regular glass and extremely thin and fragile I broke mine while cleaning the tank after about a month of having the tank. It needs a larger cut out for feeding as well.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Anyone know where I can get a replacement lid?

  1. Try reaching out directly to the manufacturer. I did this and was able to obtain one.

Does this light have a timer? If it doesn't, can you connect a timer to it?

  1. There's no timer built in. I connected mine to a Kasa timer (programmed with my cellphone). Works perfectly that way.

is the height measure with or without the light? it says 14 inch

  1. It's 14" tall INCLUDING the light. The tank itself is just a hair over 11" deep.

Would this tank be good for glofish

  1. Hi Glokat, Good day! Yes, this will be good for glofish. Thanks,

Where can I get a replacement pump for the filter? Mine died after a year of use. I like the filter setup so I don't want a hang on back or something, just a new pump.

What type and size of tubing does the tank pump use? I need to replace mine. FYI - I upgraded the pump to a Sicce Micra 90g/hr, which fits fine. Might even go to the Micra 158g/hr.

    1. Hi shaywood, Please see below size of the tube. Tube length 170mm Inner diameter 12mm Outer diameter 16mm Thanks,

Does anyone have an email for customer service for this tank? Also is anyone else having problems turning the light on and off??

I have this tank and really love it. My question is: 1) where can I buy a replacement pump just in case/when the other pump goes out? What size is the tubing to connect the pump to push the water back into the tank. 2) Can I buy a replacement lid?

      1. Regarding the pump...I don't use the actual filter/pump that came with this set. I replaced it with the Tetra Whisper IQ (medium, up to 10 gal) filter. It's great for the aquarium. But place it in the back of the tank. It's has a bit of strong suction. You don't want your fish to get stuck getting sucked in.

I need help. I cannot get this tank under control. The algae takes over so fast, I have completely cleaned the tank twice in a month, cleaned the media, put in new media, cleaned/changed out filters, used different water, etc. What am I doing wrong?

      1. How much of a bioload is in your tank? You should not be changing the filter media water etc that much you are causing your tank’s cycle to crash by getting rid of the beneficial bacteria. It’s probably the location of the tank it should not be in direct sunlight. Live plants will also help control algae, or you can keep the light off for a week.

Will the "night time light" kill nitrates? I'm cycling this tank, used filter media from existing tank and plants/decor from existing tank, had nitrate, but now none. I have read that blacklight kills good bacteria. Has anyone else had this issue?

      1. Hi Chris937 This light does not kill Nitrates. We recommend that you reach out to a local PCC for help on how the Nitrifying cycle works. Thanks,
