This basking station is terrible. It tells you you should keep the platform in the middle of the stick but there’s literally no way to do that because the hole on the platform is so big that it can only rest at the bottom of the stick where the suction cup is. It sinks as soon as you put weight on it. I highly recommend getting some thing else. This thing is worthless.

It’s made of styrofoam. My turtle won’t go near it.

I had a zoo med one that came with his tank set but it wasn’t stable enough it seemed and he wasn’t a fan of it so I got this and he absolutely loves it. He’s a African side neck turtle. He never got on the other one he tried a few times but it moved allot but with this since it’s a corner one it’s not as wobbly and it’s solid. It’s build very well in ways compared to The one that came with the zoo med tank set. I originally was only in to look for a new platform and almost gave up but this was on the bottom shelf almost hiding and I felt how sturdy it was and decided to try it out. It still took him time since he was new to my home anyways but once he got comfortable he enjoyed it he’ll bask for hours when he decides he wants to actually bask and even when he gets off it’s not too crazy wobbly.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Great for hatchlings won’t hold heavy turtle!

This would be great for baby turtles. My 5 inch mud sinks it, she is too heavy. However she does like hiding and sleeping under it and it takes up very little tank space !

eh so so...really depends on the size of your turtle. It can be pretty flimsy it almost needs more suction cups on the ends to secure it. The whole point is so your turtle can step down on it and the weight of your turtle will allow it to push down and then they can get on. I Have one turtle that is a bit too heavy for it and she actually flips it a bit and the doc gets stuck to the side (hard to explain) and then I have another turtle who isn't heavy enough and can't get on at all. I ended up buying another brand/design of a turtle doc and kind of overlapped it with this one. Now it is much more secure and both turtles can get on easier. Lots of DIY and figuring it our as we go with these red eared sliders! Have to find what works for you and what's safest and best for the animals. Good luck!

No Easy Access

This is a good floating dock for larger experienced turtles. For most owners turtles will be smaller than 12” and will need a ramp. If you want a floating dock this will do for basking purposes but it won’t be easily accessible.

I bought this for our new RES and she can't even get up on it. It doesn't go down into the water enough to allow her to get on it. I ordered something different.
