Too many defects

I purchased this and there was a bubble in the metal base where the tank sits, the bubble seemed slight at first but it was enough to make the tank be off balance so that I could rock it back and forth (think a 4 leg bar stool where only 3 legs can touch the ground at a time, but with the corners of your tank for legs). I also purchased a 20 gallon of this same stand and again the metal base where the tank sits was not flat. Clearly quality control is an issue with these and I’m not risking cracking tanks on uneven bases, nor continuing to waste time buying more of these and returning until I might eventually find an okay one, and I recommend you don’t either.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Terrible quality control!! Paint job looks awful, i could do better with a can of krylon. Weight capacity of 435lbs? Ha! Not with how thin the metal is, and if used for saltwater (was the intended purpose) would prob not last long. Also, metal shavings everywhere. And to top it all off, incomplete welds! Most importantly on the base of the stand where the feet screw into... where all of the weight is being transfered to. Will be returning.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Would this stand do good out side??

  1. No. It is only powder coated, so it will rust from the humidity.

Will it fit 2 ranks? One of top and one on bottom

  1. I have had a 15 gallon aqueon underneath acting as a sump for several years. It fits perfectly with room for a skimmer. It leaves several inches off the end where I have an ATO reservoir I found that just fits (salt water 20 gallon long on top). The stand it not designed to put a tank underneath according to their instructions, but the sump isn't full and I've never had a problem, don't expect to. If you want to have a same size tank underneath and have it look good like a fish room situation, IMO this is not the stand for that.

If 29 gallons of water weighs about 240 lbs., and the tank, gravel, cover/hood, filters, decorations weigh about another 50-75 lbs., then the stated weight limit of this stand (255 lbs.) is insufficient to hold a filled, decorated 29 gallon tank......no?

  1. 29 gallon tanks don't hold 29 gallons of water, it's more of a marketing term. Total depends on inner dimensions of tank minus an inch or so from the top. Depending on how much water you displace with rock etc, it will hold considerably less. Weight won't be a problem and it is a sure bet the stand can hold more than it is spec'd at anyways.

What is the maximum acceptable gap between stand and Aqueon 29 gal. After reassembling few times aquarium sits on corners and a gap is between 1/16 and 1/12 inch. Will neoprene foam or rubber type help to distribute a weight and prevent aquarium damage?

Will it hold a 37 gallon tank with the same measurement as a 29 gallon tank

    1. Hi Lew5558, This is only designed to hold up to 29 gallon tanks Thanks,

Will a tank that is 30”L  X  13” W  X 19”H fit this Stand will the 1/2 in wider make a difference since it is glass make a difference since it might crack thanks in advance

    1. Yes it would I have a 20 gallon right now sitting in the middle of it with alots of room to spare

    Will this stand fit a 20 gallon tank? Dimensions of my tank 30.2in x 12.4in x 23.1in

    1. 30.2in x 12.4in x 23.1 inch are not the dimensions of a standard 20 gallon long tank, they are more like 30x12x12 .Your tank is way more than 20 gallons and may be too heavy if it really 23.1 inches high

The EVA pads on the top surface of stand creates a large gap between the stand and the tank. This gap does note close when the tank is weighted (100lbs(? I am concerned it may stress tank seams if not done properly. Please provide leveling instructions!

    1. I don't have any problem with mine except putting a tank on the bottom I have to put some boards down to hold it.

Can I put 2 20 gallon tanks on this top and bottom

    1. Hi Stephiee1012, This is designed to hold only one gallon on the top. Thanks

Does this stand come with wheels or can the pedals come off to replace them with wheels? I need the tank to be portable to transfer classrooms on tile floors in a school.

    1. The feet are threaded and a wheel with a threaded screw could be used instead.
