I like this stuff

Not sure what the other comments are about but I have had no issue with this substrate in my neocaridina tank. If anything changes I will def change my review but for a month and a half I’ve used this with no issues. When I read the reviews here I was worried and purchased a liquid test kit for copper. I have tested multiple times and still no traces of copper in the water. Whatever these guys did to kill their shrimp I really don’t think it was the substrates fault. I have another tank I will add caridina shrimp into soon with the same substrate. Again, I’ll update this review if something is off but so far no problems and the shrimp and Thai crabs love it.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Full of copper. Toxic to shrimp and snails

I used this substrate in 2 heavily planted tanks for months. I bought it before it had any reviews and I didn’t have access to copper tests, so thank heavens I didn’t have any inverts or scaleless fish in here because they would almost definitely have died. When I decided to completely scrap those tanks and redo them because my plants were suffering and I wasn’t happy with them, you can imaging my surprise when I CUT MYSELF ON AN ACTUAL COIL OF COPPER! There was at least one actual PIECE of pure copper in this aquarium sand.

No, I do not recommend this product.

I bought this to cap my aquasoil "type" substrate. This stuff works really well so far. The other reviews about copper being to high. I'm not sure what happened for them. I used this to build a brand new tank cycled that tank with loads of plants and Snails. Nothing happened to my plants or snails. They were both completely fine. Snails are typically very sensitive to copper in high amounts. It is used as a slug snail killer in agriculture. So with my snails cruising around and my plants happy as can be. I give this 5 out of 5 stars. *This isn't going to cycle your tank. You still need to use common sense and standard cycling guidelines. It does help alot though.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Might be great for plants but it kills shrimp.

I can confirm this product kills shrimp. Tons of copper, this should be recalled as it has a shrimp right in the package which is downright malicious.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Terrible product it has a shrimp on the bag and in person it says shrimp and plant substrate I have tons of copper now in my tank and cost me a lot of work to empty out. The copper level well exceeds safe amounts and any copper high enough will kill your invertabrates and possibly make fish sick wish I can get my money back for the bag I used. It was a real headache will not recommend it. Had 17ppm of copper which leeched.

No, I do not recommend this product.
