Questions
I have a new 20 gallon tank setup and currently in the process of 1st cycle. Its a “fish-in” cycle with fish and plants.I added this as recommended when filling my water and want to know how often should I continue using? Will this affect/hinder my cycle?
- Hi Ejhamp27, Good day! Please see our expert's verbatim response. Will not hinder the cycle. Depending on how many fish they have added, they can safely add 5ml (1 tsp) per 10 gallons daily for the first three days. I recommend feeding lightly for the first week and monitor ammonia, nitrite and nitrate with Imagitarium test kits. Ammonia, nitrite should stay in check but if they do rise, they can use Imagitarium Ammonia Remover to detoxify or perform partial water changes to dilute. I stress to avoid overfeeding during the first few weeks. Thanks,

Is it ok to add this every other day for the first week? I see where some folks say it didn't work using it only once a week. When do I stop using it? Thanks.
- Hi Fishface Nick, Good day! The dosage for the Biological Booster can be increased, especially if the aquarium has a larger bioload (more fish). There is no real danger of overdosing, the bacteria will simply adapt their population to what is needed in that particular system. Although not necessary, you can use can use indefinitely on a bi-weekly basis to ensure a healthy population is always present. This will result in a cleaner/healthier environment that will require less maintenance. Thanks

- Hi _Eva, We suggest that you visit your local PCC ( Petco store ) and speak with an aquatics specialist. There are several products that target algae. You can also consult about other concerns, Thanks.

I double dose (8 tsp versus 4 tsp) my new 40 gallon tank and the water has gotten extremely cloudy. Will the cloudy water turn to clear, or should I remove the cloudy water and fill to 40 gallon tank with new water?
- Sounds like a bacterial bloom, I recommend checking out aquarium coop videos on YouTube for more help.

The booster says add 5 ml for every 10 gallon, so when changing water if I have 10 gallon of water I should only add 5 ml and NOT 25ml or 30 ml even my tank is a 55 gallon tank? ( I am only changing 10 gallon of aquarium water ).
- Hi Winter143, In this situation, treating the volume of water being changed is correct. Thanks,

Does this help with cloudy water? I bought this biological booster and water conditioner because it was suggested by the Petco associate. However, the cloudy water is not gone. How and when do i use this? Thank you.
- Hi Bachi123, This products adds beneficial bacteria to the water to aid in the cycling process. This would help if the cloudiness if caused by new tank syndrome but would not help if its algae or excessive food/waste related. We recommend reaching out to a local petco store aquatics specialist to first get to the underlying reason for the cloudiness to determine why the tank is cloudy. Thanks,
