I have just bought new gold fish, so will putting the conditioner into my tap water keep my fish from dying? and how long should I wait before putting them into the tank after the conditioner? first time fish owner here.
- Hi Kimberlyy21, At least a month if this is a new tank. However, if you are adding water to a pre-established aquarium. You should only have to wait 15 to 20 minutes. Water conditioner’s purpose is to rid tap water of chlorine compounds. After you condition your water, you need to cycle it too with filter running and plants if this is a new aquarium. This will allow beneficial bacteria to grow in the filter and clean the water from ammonia and nitrites produced by fish. You must also add fish food every food during the cycle to mimic the fish poops which produce ammonia. Otherwise your cycling will be useless. Thanks

Hello, I have been using this product and, in general, am very pleased with the results; however, does this product also reduce ammonia in the tank? I see that it reduces chloramine and chlorine, but what about ammonia?
- Hi Fish_Dad, This is not an ammonia reducer. Thanks,

I have a small tank. Can I prepare a gallon of water/conditioner mixture and keep it in the cabinet for changing his tank?
Greetings!! How many drops of this conditioner should I use for 5 gallons? I ask because the back of the bottle states one thing but the people in the store says 1 drop per gallon. I’m lost.
- Because Bettas are tropical and fragile, I normally put in five drops per gallon and you should be using spring water, not tap water because the Bettas can’t live in chlorinated, heavy metal water for long periods of time without getting sick.
