I had an aquarium of 7 very healthy, active fish…now I’m down to 2 that are barely holding on. I used this product as directed and within a week of doing so, all the fish in my tank stopped eating, became inactive and distressed. I don’t know how this product continues to be sold at Petco, it needs to be removed from the shelves immediately.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Toxic to fish

I used this as directed and my otherwise healthy fish are now in clear distress, won't eat, and look like they are dying. This is a dangerous, toxic product that shouldn't be sold at Petco.

No, I do not recommend this product.

I purchased this product at one of our local PetCo stores & worked great when rebuilding our 75 freshwater. Can this be used now that plants are in the tank to kill green slime algae w/o harming the freshwater plants?

I have a 10 gal freshwater tank. Is it safe to use with mystery snails?

    1. Hi Linney59, In Freshwater, the algaecide is not safe to use with invertebrates. Thanks,

How about it seems like there’s maybe bacteria being broken up and there’s like just waste that’s floating around the tank it’s not ick but I can’t seem to get it to go into the filter and stay in the filter I justed cleaned thefilter but it still is the?

Is this safe to use with snails in the tank?

      1. Hi lbud50, In Freshwater, the algaecide is not safe to use with invertebrates. Thanks,

I have a 13.5 Fluval salt water tank, how much do I add? How long should I wait to do a water change? And does it affect clownfish, royal gramy, shrimp, hermitcrabs and emerald, and coral?

      1. Hi cordero, The algaecide is safe for marine aquariums when used as directed. Dosage is 6 drops per 10 gallons, so for their system (guessing displacement or rocks and sand) we would recommend 7 drops. We would also recommend you find what is causing the algae issues as algaecide will take care of existing algae but will not cause new algae from returning and is not a long term or best solution for a reef tank. * Get water tested to ensure nitrates and/or phosphates are not elevated * Do regular water changes. * Ensure they are not overfeeding. Thanks,

How long after using this product can I put my cray fish back in the tank. It has been 4 days now.

      1. Hi Brodys Grandma, We recommend doing waiting 5 days and doing a 25% water change before adding FW inverts. Thanks,

Can this be used with saltwater hermitcrabs?

      1. Hi AMC24, There Is no Copper in this. Fine to use with Saltwater Inverts. Thanks,

The instructions say this product is not safe for use with shrimp. How long should I wait before adding shrimp to a tank that has been treated with this product?

      1. Hi Steve999, We would recommend 3 days and at least a 50% water change before adding shrimp. Thanks,

I have a 20 gallon tank with a tetra fish and a blue crayfish.  Is it safe to use this product? We followed the petco specialist’s directions of water conditioner, quick start and aquarium salt in a fresh tank of water & it’s cloudy/green after 4 days.

      1. HI Daryl and Carol. Yes, this product is safe for freshwater species. Thanks,

Is this product safe for fresh or brackish water, aquatic turtles (Diamondback Terrapins) & semi-aquatic turtles, (red eared sliders)?

      1. When used/dosed as directed it will be safe. But, as a sidenote we would recommend you tje Imagitarium Biological Booster to help naturally help remove what is causing the algae and help water quality. Thanks,
