They offer excellent advice.
I first bought some sword fish and guppies. Due to my water conditions, too much pH, they did not survive but Petco refunded my money and shared with me about how to fix the solution. I did buy 5 guppies this time and they are doing well at this time and my water is now down to the 7.0 pH balance. thank you so much Petco for helping me fix my water problems and I plan on adding additional fish is a week.

Didn't work
I bought this today and it doesn't work. My experience it is either off or full on. There was no in between. Will try to return it maybe it was a defective valve.

Not dependable
I've purchased many of these either individually or in their air control kits. I'd say more than 50 percent of them have issues either not allowing efficient flow or leaking. I will be purchasing online from another manufacturer but hope to help someone else that hasn't figured it out yet through numerous purchases that these valves are cheaply made and not dependable.

Lasted less than 3 weeks
I ordered this control valve on October 7, 2020 and installed it as a bleed valve for a sponge filter immediately after receiving it a few days later. Today October 26th, I noticed my sponge filter was not functioning normally. Once I replaced the control valve the sponge filter was back to normal.

Leaks!!
Bought 2 and they both leak! It leaks where hose goes on one end because one side is smaller than the other and valves are either full on or off no adjustment!

Works Great!
I bought this a few weeks ago. I just got a new sponge filter that I am cycling in my betta tank. The cycled HOB was to strong for him. I connected it to the air pump and turned it on. The filter worked great but the air that came out was still way to strong. I bought this valve, along with a check valve, and put it on the lowest setting and it worked perfectly! He loves the bubbles and they work perfectly.

where to I place the air control valve in my air pump set up?
- Your check valve should be at the furthest end to prevent that water from flowing back into your pump, it can even go right before the air stone or whatever else you have the hose hooked up to. The control valve can go anywhere before that where you have easy access, right at the pump or anywhere in between. If you have multiple things you want to run from the same pump then put the check valve before the split to reduce the number you would need and the control valve before that if you want to adjust everything with just one. Or you can have one going to each individual output. Plenty of possibilities depending on need.
