Bought it on sale about $150. Good deal

Well just like everyone else not sure what to expect been using aqueon all my life, Found this on sale and couldn't say no. The glass is 3/8 thick (i measured it) which gives this tank a thiccc feel to it. only other tanks i have that come close to this thickness is a rimless cube that is 1/2 thick. So ya this glass is a lot thicker than the past aqeuon tanks i've had. yes I have noticed the plastic rim is thinner than aqueon brand. i've had rimless tanks in the past so this doesn't bother me much.... I really don't have negative to say about it I'm doing a water fill and testing for leaks over the next 4 days. I confident this tank is strong. I won't be using it until next month until i get the rest of my equipment set up. I will def. update the review if i find any flaws or weakness but so far so good!

Yes, I recommend this product.

This aquarium is fantastic. I was skeptical when petco switch from aqueon to this. It's actually a 81 gallon because it's 2 inches taller then a standard 75. The thinner trim and larger size it just looks more open. @ $160 I think Imma go buy me another one.

Yes, I recommend this product.

The Positive Aspects of This New Design

Shoreline

I hear people giving this tank a lot of flack that I don't think is the whole picture or is deserved. I've come to make things clear on why I believe this tank is better than the Aqueon 75. People say the frame bracing is too small but does it need to be that big? The tank has stepped up from the old design from 1/4" glass to 3/8". This gives a much better surface area for silicon to adhere to on the seams. Less plastic frame bracing means bigger viewing area. Another positive aspect is the dimensions. The length of the outer base dimensions of the tank is exactly 48x18 not more. This means you don't need to waste wood when building your stands or cabinetry since the old tanks always had that half inch extra that made you buy the extra piece of lumber. 23 inch tank height. These tanks have an extra two inches of height compared to the Aqueon 75. I think I would leave tank designs to the engineers to figure out if these can hold water and how much bracing and types of materials can hold the pressures. No need to anticipate and worry about disasters that have not happened. As with any bigger tank just make sure your base is strong and completely level. I own three of these tanks and so far I love and trust them. They are an incredible value.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Does it’s job fine

I’m not sure why all the hate on this product. It does fine for what it is. It is an entry level 75 gallon tank. The one I purchased doesn’t have any defects to it and has been holding water fine for a couple of months now. I have seen there are concerns of the bracing on the tanks bowing. It seems it has something to do with the framing of the tank settling when it’s placed over the glass hot after being molded. Just take a look at the braces before purchasing, some are worse than others. I do not run a hood on mine and just use the glass lids that petco sells for this tank. It works great and does what I need it to do for my 75g African cichlid tank. I mainly purchased this one for the dimensions as it is a little taller than other 75g tanks. As far as the silicone it is very thick. Between the glass panels in the corners there are small imperfections in the silicone and tiny air bubbles here and there but again for the price it’s fine and does not affect the water tight seal. Just look the tank over that your interested in and if you see things that look concerning go to another store that has one and compare it.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Don't waste your money.

I bought this 75g when they had their 50% off sale.when I brought it home and set it on my professional built stand I noticed the frame wasn't touching the stand in certain areas. After I noticed this I flipped the tank over and put my 6ft level on the bottom frame to see why is wasn't touching on the stand. When they assembled the tank they didn't push the frame all the way down so that why is was off.so I ended up taking the bottom frame off to re silicone it on there.when I did I noticed a huge chip in the glass the size of a golf ball.its already passed my 30dys return so now I'm stuck with a tank I can't use.i would of been better off just burning my money.

What Size Hood??

the tank itself is fine. I’ve had it for about six months. It’s got water in it, it’s been cycling/cycled, it holds the water just fine. However, only lids and hoods from the same brand will fit on it. I have yet to find a LED hood size that fits it. I prefer the hoods to the glass lids for two reasons… 1. I have cats and find hoods are sturdier when they try to make mischief. 2. I find the glass lids to be an absolute nightmare to clean and keep clean. I was told there is a good that will fit, but I haven’t found it. I can’t keep buying and returning lids because they don’t fit.
