Will I be able to attach a HOB filter with this lid
- Hi, The Imagitarium 40B/50-Gallon Terrarium Screen is a rigid metal mesh designed for reptile or small animal security and airflow, not for use with hang-on-back (HOB) filters. It does not have cut-outs for HOB filters, and the metal screen may rust in high moisture aquarium environments. Thanks.

I wanted to know if this would fit with a Marineland 40-gallon breeder tank. And if it is sturdy enough to keep gerbils from hurting it?
- Yes, it will fit. It's definitely sturdy, as it is made of metal, but it sits on top of the tank loosely. You can buy tank lid clips, or clamp separately if you think your gerbils will push on it.

- Only with PLENTY of weight on it. You would be better with a locking lid.
