Not to bad of a tank. The fact that you can not buy a replacement lid will stop me from purchasing another.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Bought this week. Scaped it and filled it with water and it looks great and seems like a quality product. It is my first rimless tank larger than 3 gallons so i was skeptical of the glass's ability to hold back the weight of the water and all the sand and rocks. So far, so good! The included glass lid is a nice touch and fits with the included clips perfectly.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Before buying this tank, I purchased the 14G Aqueon at my local Petco. This was about 2 months ago. Unfortunately, life happened and I didn't get time to set it up until this last weekend. I adhered the leveling foam to the bottom and started filling it with water and it started leaking on a seam about 3/4 the way up the tank. At this point I didn't have any receipt and am probably beyond the return date, so it went in the trash. The next day I drove to Petco and bought this Imagitarium 14G tank. I've heard Petco is phasing away from Aqueon and going to Imgaitarium, but this is what they had in stock. Took it home and it also started leaking, this one was only had about 2 gallons of water in it before the seam started leaking - bad. Physically, this tank and the Aqueon one looked identical as far as glass thickness, seam quality and such. The only difference I saw between them is the branding and the glass top cover is different. So the next day I returned this tank for a refund and bought the "GloFish Glass Aquarium Kit, 10 Gallons". I ordered it online and did in-store pickup. I ended up getting the last one, which was their display model apparently as it had no box or packaging info. It seemed fine, so I took it home. The "GloFish" tank has one of those plastic AIO dividers in it and a light. I wasn't planning on using the light or pump included with that tank, so I threw them out and removed the plastic AIO divider and the black sticker that was applied to the back to make it more of a "normal" tank that I could put a power filter and small protein skimmer on. That tank is listed on their website as 15.125" x 13.125" x 15.2", which maths out to just under 13 gallons, so slightly smaller than the 14G I was initially looking at. The Glofish tank has rounded front edges and glued seams on the back two corners and the bottom, but the seams look much much better than the Aqueon/Imagitarium brands. And bonus - it didn't leak. I'm 99% sure the GloFish tank is made by Marineland as they also sell a "10 Gallon Glass Aquarium Kit", product number AQ-78620 that has the same dimensions with the same AIO divider, lid and light fixture (although the Glofish light might have different LEDs). Long story short, if you are looking for a rimless cube tank around this size, I'd look at the Glofish one. It's more expensive, and if you aren't going to use the AIO divider it's a little more work to remove it, but the quality of the tank is massively superior, even just looking at the seams. I don't see the Marineland 10G as a Petco item, so I think they just carry the Glofish version. Both the Marineland and Glofish tank have a plastic base that the tank sits on, which I think is stupid and I threw that out also and set it on a piece of thin foam. I'd avoid the Aqueon and Imagitarium bigger rimless tanks at all costs. I like the look of them over the old-style rimmed tanks, but those rims do serve a purpose. I do have a smaller rimless Imagitarium tank that I got from Petco, they sell it as "Imagitarium Glass Shrimp & Aquatic Plants Aquarium, 5 Gallons", which maths out to between 7-8 gallons, and that one I've not had any problems with leaking, although one of the reviews for that one on Petco's site here does have someone saying theirs leaked. I feel the glass thickness is good enough on these tanks, but they are sealed very bad and sloppily. There are plenty of mfgs. that make quality rimless tanks in much bigger sizes, and things like eurobraces exist also to help with the water pressure, but Imagitarium and Aqueon need to do some better quality control on these things before shipping them out, they obviously aren't water testing them.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Could this be used for a tarantula?

  1. Hi, The Imagitarium 14 Gallon Open-Glass Frameless Cube Aquarium Tank is a high-quality vessel designed for aquatic life and is not generally the ideal primary habitat for a tarantula without significant modifications. Thanks.

  1. Hi, It is made with standard, non-tempered glass and is not designed to be drilled. Thanks.

Where can I get a replacement lid for this tank? Mine broke while doing my maintenance.

  1. Hi, Since this is a frameless tank, branded replacement lids are not typically sold. Your best options are to get a custom-cut lid from a local glass or acrylic shop. Thanks, Petco Support.

Which filter fits the tank with the top on? I tried the Tetra whisper IQ 20 gallon but it doesn’t fit with the lid on.

  1. 1. Aqueon QuietFlow Internal Filter (10 Gallon) Fits inside the tank, so it doesn’t interfere with the lid. Mounts via suction cups or clips, making it ideal for framed or frameless tanks. Offers mechanical, chemical, and biological filtration. Quiet operation and easy maintenance1. 2. Imagitarium Undergravel Filter (10 Gallon) Sits beneath the substrate, completely inside the tank. Doesn’t obstruct the lid at all. Includes two filter cartridges and works with standard air pumps 2.
