Aqua Gravel Vacuum

The aquatic gravel vacuum worked pretty well. You have to cut the hose and attach both ends to the blue pump. When using it in my 5 gal tank it worked well. While the hose worked through the gravel. It took a while for the dirt to filter out, it about emptied my tank. I think it will work very well in larger tanks.

Yes, I recommend this product.

This product has made vacuuming my aquarium gravel so much easier! It took me a little bit to figure out but once I figured it out it’s was easy to use. It has great suction and was very effective in cleaning the bottom of my tank

I was excited to recieve this product since i have a red ear slider. I set up with a bucket and tried to suction and i couldnt get suction going no matter how hard i tried and diffrrent ways. It just got stuck in tubing. The clip was nice because it kept in place. Over all this product was a no for me. Ill stick to the basic bucket and scooping water out.

No, I do not recommend this product.

It works. Does clean up but takes a while to get desired effect, something to practice pacience with. The siphone tube is breakable, chipped easily on my gravel rocks. Suction bulb is a good plastic material that is firm to squeeze, doesnt suction up well enough to get everytbing in 1 go, but does do the job. Difficult to clean out if something got stuck

No, I do not recommend this product.

Nice idea but not enough suction

Not great overall. The pump isn’t really powerful enough for the size of the vacuum attachment, and the opening of the vacuum attachment into the main tube is too small to let the larger chunks of axolotl poop through. It worked better after we took the vacuum attachment off but still…not that much suction and a pretty slow flow rate filling the bucket. Squeezing the pump constantly did help but that also very much made it a two person job—one person to squeeze the pump constantly and the other to maneuver the tubing around the tank to pick stuff up. Overall, a nice idea but not really enough suction to be effective

No, I do not recommend this product.

I use this for my fish tank but it could work for anything water container up to about 40 gallons. The only reason why I wouldn't use it for something larger is that I get impatient and would want something with a bigger tube. The hand squeezed pump makes it very convenient to get the flow of water started.

Good enough siphon

The pros: It's 6 feet long, comes with a suction bulb so you don't have to suck up water the old school way. It does the job of cleaning gravel well. The cons: I used this for a 55 gallon community fish tank. My tank is on a stand so it may not be long enough if your tank is on a stand and you place your cleaning bucket on the floor. The siphon does well with the small gravel I have in my tank but if you have larger gravel, it may be too small to clean the bottom of your tank efficiently. Overall opinion: It's not a bad siphon. I have a bigger one that I prefer but I will use this as a back up.

Yes, I recommend this product.

If you have a turtle and struggle to keep his tank clean, I would highly recommend this turtle gravel vacuum by Imagitarium. Imagitarium is my go to brand for all my reptile needs - they make a high quality product that lasts a long time. The gravel vacuum is no exception. It is easier to set up, operate and works great. Recommend.

is a electric vacuum better?

  1. This product works wonderfully... It compares to a hose. I think a garden hose is faster.

Would this suction up the sand I have in my turtle tank or would it only clean up the debris from the bottom?

  1. Don't bother with this. Mine never worked properly. Buy a fishtank one. Hold it a little above the sand when cleaning.
