Suggested Amount to Feed per Day Based on Weight of Cat: 4lbs. = 1/3 cup; 8lbs. = 1/2-2/3 cup; 12lbs. = 2/3-3/4 cup; 16lbs. = 3/4-1 cup; 22lbs. = 1-1 1/4 cup. These guideline amounts are a starting point and your cat may need more food depending upon age, activity and temperament. In order to reach optimal body condition, you may need to adjust food intake. This represents the total recommended volume of food per day. You should divide the total recommended feeding amount by the number of times you feed your cat per day to get the actual portion size per feeding. If you have a kitten, pregnant or nursing cat, we recommend feeding IAMS kitten food. Remember to have clean, fresh water available for your cat at all times. Because IAMS HAIRBALL CARE cat food is complete and balanced for maintenance, you do not need to add vitamin or mineral supplements. When introducing IAMS cat food, gradually mix it with your cat's current food over the course of 4 days.

We have 1 1/2yr old Ragdoll female. At a steady 8.6 pounds/small frame. Area in front of back legs seems a little skinny. A couple of internet sites seems to suggest IAMS Proactive Health, Healthy Kittens is ok for adults to gain weight in view of it's extra protein and fat. Is that ok for 8.6 lb female.
Which dry food is best for an indoor, seven year old cat, low in calories?
I wanted my male cat to loose weight I changed his diet to Iam's weight controll he was in February 11.8 lbs later 11 lbs later again 9.8 lbs today he is 8.2 he is not interested in canned dry treats he drinks regularly
I've been feeding my cats Candidae food, dry hairball control kibble and wet food 2x/day. They like the dry, but LOVE the wet. However t's quite expensive and that brand only carries 3 oz cans of wet food which makes calculating feeding amounts difficult. I want to make sure I'm feeding them the best and most cost efficient way. What would you recommend feeding them, and how, and how much? Do their weights (attached photo) seem healthy?
I have two cats, a 7 year old and an 11 year old. I've been giving them a mix of three types of dry food (Science Diet urinary health, Blue Buffalo healthy aging, and Blue Buffalo Indoor hairball control mature). Is this a good idea to mix these three together in their bowls? I just want them to get the benefits from these products as well and not get tired/develop an allergy from just one type of food constantly. Thank you!
Best low-carb wet food for cats?
What's the best dry indoor food for kittens?
Our 1 1/2 year old female ragdoll feline started loosing patches of fur for last 2 weeks. No scabs/raw spots on skin. Vetinarian concludes not fleas or ringworm. No known environmental changes or new house products. Now starting Royal Canin Hydrolyzed Protein Adult HP for 2-3 weeks in case it's food allergies. It's $50 for 7.7 lbs. Is there a less expensive equivalent Purina or other brand?? Thanks from Florida.
Senior Ferrel cat is getting thin and not eating as much. Appears to be getting thin and losing muscle mass, trouble climbing fence. Unable to approach, but comes by twice a day. looking for a food that may help.
At his last vet visit I was informed that Aquiylan is slightly overweight and it was suggested that I find either a high fiber or a weight management food for him. The best option I can find is a combo hairball& weight management. He's never had a problem with hairball however. Is it likely to mess him up if I switch him gradually? (Or if you could recommend a good food. He has a rather active life playing with the puppy and is currently on friskies indoor formula)
