Hi I was speaking with one of your vets before about senior diet cat foods that are less stressful on the kidneys. Suggestions were purina pro plan 11+, hills science 11+ & royal canin aging 12+, all canned. He wasn't crazy about these but seems to like hills science diet mature 7+ savory chicken minced canned entree. It says its also lower in phosphorus but would love someone's opinion or experience with this food. Thx!!
Which dry food is best for an indoor, seven year old cat, low in calories?
Petco needs to carry Hill's Science Turkey and Barley for 7 and older!. Why don't you carry it?
What food is good for cats who are five years old ?
What is a good brand of wet canned food for a senior cat?! I have to switch her food and don’t know what to get that will be nutritious but not expensive. I currently feed her Authority brand wet food.
Hello my 17 year old cat tony is on meds for hyperthyroidism and high blood pressure and doing well on both but my vet prefers he eat a senior diet that will not be taxing on his aging kidneys. He doesn't like prescription hills g/d or royal canin senior consult. He liked them at first but always falls back on and prefers my other cats canned royal canin selected protein rabbit and pea which is not for a geriatric! Any other suggestions for a senior diet , prescription or store bought? thanks!
Trying to get my elder cat to eat a senior diet lower in phosphorus for less stress on kidneys!Tried royal canin aging 12+, hills science 7+& 11+, Purina pro plan 11+..he really doesn't like any of them. The one he likes most is the pro plan but it has the most phosphorus of them all at 1.54% dry matter. any other suggestions?I've tried some senior rx diets too that he won't stick with. I know any food is best for his kidneys of course than no food but I just want to get him on a proper food. Thx
Best senior wet dog food for my 14 miniature poodle?
My male cat recently had cytene (not sure of spelling) crystals. The vet said he needs to eat Hill's Science Diet canned food. My cat is 15 pounds so that means I would have to feed him two cans a day at a cost of over $100 a month. Is there any other food that I could give him. Plus the fact Hill's has corn and corn gluten in it.
Senior Ferrel cat is getting thin and not eating as much. Appears to be getting thin and losing muscle mass, trouble climbing fence. Unable to approach, but comes by twice a day. looking for a food that may help.
I have been feeding Hill's Science Diet Perfect Weight dry food mixed with their Perfect Weight. Chicken Vegetable Stew (1/3 cup dry, 2 Tbs. Wet, 2x/day). I am thinking of switching to the wet food, which he seems to prefer. If i do, how much should I be feeding him (2 small meals per day)?
