Pieces are too Big

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 7 year old kitty was very intrigued by the big bag of cat food that arrived! She enjoys the taste and had no adverse effects; however, the morsels are too big for her. Crumbs go flying everywhere when she bites the pieces in half!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Hills Science Diet and HomeTesterClub thank you for this huge bag of food, Chop loves it. I would recommend to everyone this brand of cat food it’s very healthy for them. When I worked at a vet years ago we sold so much of it that it was a no brained for me. Hills Science Diet Indoor Adult 7+ is perfect for your aging cat.

All three cats approve

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So I have three cats. One of them has digestion issues. He is a 9 year old ragdoll who has mostly been healthy so far. In the last 3 months I noticed he was vomiting more and more after eating almost every day. We took him to the vet who did some blood work and said he was healthy. Even after switching their catfood to a single ingredient food his condition did not improve. Then came this huge bag of Hill’s Pet Science Diet SD Feline Adult 7+ food that was gifted to us by hometesters club. I slowly started adding it to their regular food. Fortunately all three cats took to the new food instantly and it took just two days to fully transition them to their new food. I have noticed that my 9 year old cat does not vomit as often and when he does it is mostly hairball and not straight up food which was the case before. All three of my cats love their food but my 9 years old ragdoll’s digestion problem has significantly improved.

Great Food for My Senior Cats

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have two indoor cats, Charlie (nearly 8) and Yoshi (7), and both of them have really enjoyed this Hill’s Science Diet Indoor Adult 7+ Chicken formula. They adjusted to it quickly and seem to love the taste, which isn’t always easy with older cats. I’ve noticed that their digestion has been smoother, and cleaning the litter box has definitely been easier since switching. Their coats look healthy, and they still have good energy for playtime, which makes me feel like the food is supporting them as they age. I really appreciate that it’s made with natural ingredients and designed with senior indoor cats in mind. I also appreciate the easy close bag making it easy to keep fresh and not having to worry about it spilling. My only drawback is the price. It’s a little higher than some other brands but the quality is clear, and knowing it helps keep Charlie and Yoshi healthy makes it worth it. Overall, a great option if you want to give your older cats solid nutrition as they grow older.

Amazing Food

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My cat enjoyed this food. At first, I thought she didn't like it because I didn't have to feed her as often. However, I realized that it is full of healthy nutrients, so she just didn't need to eat as much. I also noticed her fur was healthier, and she shed a lot less. I will continue to use this food because it is a much healthier option for my furry baby.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My elderly cat wouldn’t even try a bite of this. It’s hard for me to review in a positive or negative way because my cat is just picky. I ended up giving it to my neighbor whose cat actually enjoys it but she prefers to be anonymous. So I will say this is a great brand and good for your pets so if you can get them to eat it I would recommend

Questions

1 - 9 of 9 Questions

I have two 4 year old cats. They normally eat Indoor Adult 1-6 Science Diet. My roommate accidentally bought Indoor 7+. Will the age difference in the food change negatively affect my cats

  1. It should not as long as you go back to the correct age next time. Trust me I have had 2 Huskies and at one time 9 cats and I have gotten the bags mixed a couple times. I stayed with Hills and that was the main thing.

Is the Indoor 7+ OK to give to a cat that is about 13 years old?

  1. Hill's makes an 11+ chicken recipe and it can be ordered on line from Petco. You may also want to make sure your kitty is current with the vet in the event there is a special diet need for health reasons.

Looking for a softer dry food, cat has mouth tumor & prefers dry food need something not as crunchy

  1. While this food is crunchy, I have discovered that you can soften it by adding a little warm water or broth to a small portion of it. I mash it and my cat likes it very much.

Is there salmon or tuna option for this brand?

  1. Not that I am aware but, my cats have always eaten the chicken with no problems.

do you have hills science diet indoor adult 1-6 available for delivery. How about your house brand clumping litter? Friskies Party Mix cat treats?

Is this product OK for cats between 7 and 11 years old?

    1. Yes, our oldest cat, pure bred himalayan is almost 16yr and she has been on Science Diet Hairball Control since she was 4 or 5. We have 2 rescue kitties, one is 6 and the other is 2. They both are on the hairball formular. We started them each of them on reg. Science Diet, for their age. Our 1st rescue would not eat anything but what her "sister" ate which was the hairball control. So it worked out fine as the rescue was about 2 yrs.old. However. 2 yrs ago, a kitty. About 8 wks old found his way to our home in the middle of winter and we had to keep him. We started him off on SD kitten. but within 6 wks, he wanted to be part of the family too, and gobbled the SD Hairball control and wouldn't eat anything else. Said all of that to say from our experience and blessings from our vet, All 3 have thrived on SD hairball. AND our 16 yr Himalayan has slowed some, but can give the young ones a run for the money when she she gets tired of them aggravating her. SCIENCE Diet Hairball Control you rock!!

is the pellets or the big star shape

    1. Thank you for your question. All of our Science Diet® indoor and hairball control dry cat foods would have a larger triangular shaped kibble. This larger kibble size helps cats pass hair through the digestive tract. If you are looking for a smaller pellet shaped kibble, we would recommend our Science Diet® Senior 11+ Age Defying™ Cat Food.

age to move to "senior" cat food?

    1. Hi! We recommend that you begin a gradual transition from the Adult to the Mature Adult food around the time you cat is turning 7 years old. Thanks for your question.

would science diet be good for my mature adult persian and does it come in different flavors?

    1. The science Diet original hsa very tiny round pieces, much smaller than the mature. I don't know about other flavors. My cats like the original and mature just fine and they thrive on it.
