Changed Formula

Rusty

Was very disappointed that Science Diet changed the ingredients in this dog food without prior notice. The size of the kibble was also changed and made smaler. My dog began throwing up and having loose stools. I had to call Hills to find out what had happened. Unfortunately I had to change to another brand since my dog cannot tolerate the new formula.

We rescued our 5 year old Welsh Pembroke Corgi about a month ago. We soon found out what a fussy eater she is. After trying several other brands our vet gave us a small bag of Hills Science. She absolutely loves this food!!! Finally successful!!

Dogs with Allergy

Charleyo

This is the only brand I feel safe giving my dogs. They have a certain diet they need and vet recommended Science Hills . All three Boston Terriers are allergic to chicken, and I wanted to make sure I fed my dog something with no hidden chicken!

Yes, I recommend this product.

Great for chicken sensitivities!

Bought this for my rescue dog after he had repeated adverse reactions to anything containing chicken protein. He was previously on Turkey/oatmeal kibble from another brand but his poop was very soft and he didn’t love the flavor. This has been great! Poop is nice and firm and he eats without issue. We tried the Hills pollock/insect but the pieces are pretty large for him. I wish there were more non-prescription chicken-free options, but as long as this is available we should be good!

Hill's Science Small Bites Lamb Meal & Brown Rice

I am a 77 yr old disabled veteran and have a 2 yr old Frenchy. She had been raised on NutriSource (Chicken and Rice dry food) but at about 9 mnths started turning her nose up at it. We switched to Royal Canin for French Bulldogs. She did OK on that for 4 mnths but started scratching her ears & licking her paws a lot THEN started to just pick at her food. Our vet suggested allergies and had us switch to Hills Science small bites Lamb Meal & Brown Rice and she is in love with it AND almost totally quit scratching ears and licking her paws.

Yes, I recommend this product.

What is amount of protein ?

  1. Thank you for your question. The protein level for Hill's® Science Diet® Adult Small Bites Lamb Meal & Brown Rice Recipe dog food is 23.8% on a dry matter basis. We hope this is helpful. Hill's Pet Nutrition

My dogs are 9&11, they have issues w itching and licking their paws a lot. They have been on Proplan chicken, since pups. Wondering if the lamb and rice in this brand would be better

  1. It does not help my dog, who also has these issues. She is four and itches a lot during the warm and hot months. Now that cooler weather is here she is less likely to have that problem. She is four years. But, as with people, your dog may react different. Only way to know is to try. Good luck.

Would small bites be OK to feed our 70 pound Aussie/Collie mix? He’s 16 months old and we need to transition him from the Hills Science Diet large breed puppy lamb food.

  1. Yes and he will love it, best food ever and my dogs love it and never has had any health problem being on this food and there at perfect weight!

Why is the product I want to purchase $48.99 and the minimum for free shipping is $49.00?

  1. If you do repeat delivery is $46.99 and shipping is free
