My cat weight is 14 lbs. I give her The AMT of food for a 10 lb. Cat and split in half morning and night I hope this works. Is this the correct amount ?
- Yes, 1/2 morning and evening. If she is too hungry, give her a little more at each feeding. You don't want to cut her to short right away, it works better if you reduce the amount of food over a week or two so she gets used to getting less.

Are they only supposed to be fed this once based on their serving per the bag?
- The amount listed is a daily amount. I split it in half and give mine 1/2 in the morning and the other half at between 3 and 4 PM. You start with the weight reduction serving amount, and then when they achieve their ideal weight you feed them the maintenance amount. I have 5 cats and 3 eat this and love it and have lost weight on it. You have to preserve and not give more food, or it won't work. My guys even get 5 Temptation Treats a day and do fine. But no more, and no table food either. It feels good to see the weight come off and how much more playful they are. I won't feed them anything else now. This is their food for life. Good luck!!

No known environmental changes or new house products. Now starting Royal Canin Hydrolyzed Protein Adult HP for 2-3 weeks in case it's food allergies. It's $50 for 7.7 lbs. I am putting my cat on a diet to shed a few pounds (he is around 18lbs right now). I am going to give him "Hill's Science Diet Adult Perfect Weight" canned wet food. My question is, how much of the canned wet food should I give him per day? Half a can in the morning and then the other half in the evening? These are 2.9-oz cans. I want to do what's best for him. My cat was almost two he was diagnosed w/FLUTD and had crystals in his urine. He had a perineal urethrostomy after being diagnosed. He was originally on hills science c/d and s/d but that became very expensive. He has been one Purina One urinary tract health dry food for about 1.5 years and has had no urinating issues. I want him to lose weight (18lbs) & don't know if his wet food should be urinary or weight loss focused and what his dry food should focus on since I'm doing a mixed diet.
RE: DOG FOOD My dog is eating Hill's science diet 7+ Active Longevity Small Bites (chicken meal, rice & Barley recipe) for years. But I found out Hill's is recalling their dog foods recently and I am worrying the dog food my dog eating now also have the problems. The vet prescribed Duke Hills weight loss and mobility food because he is significantly overweight (10 year old chihuahua pug mix) I know I’m supposed to feed an amount of food based on his ideal weight but the vet didn’t tell me how much he should weigh.
Weight Loss in Dogs: i have 2 Chihuahua's who have been on a diet with no results. The 1st dog weighs 10 lbs and should 5 to 6 lbs. The 2nd dog weighs 20lbs and should weigh 12 to 14 pounds.
