I bought a Hill's Prescription diet product labeled "Metabolic" with chicken flavoring. Our dog has been eating this for a very long time and has never had a problem. But now there was a huge mold spot on the top of the can. The packaging was intact, the top of the food was moldy

Although we take every precaution to prevent mold from developing, on rare occasion, our wet food products may develop mold if there has been damage to the packaging and the vacuum seal gets broken. Mold will not grow in a properly sealed can. Since mold spores require air to grow, they cannot grow inside a vacuum sealed can. On rare occasion, a can's integrity may become compromised through handling damage, and allow seepage of air which provides an environment for mold growth. If moldy canned food is discovered at time of removal of can top, we can be sure that the can experienced damage at some point. This damage is not always easily detected. The can and contents should be immediately discarded. We offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee on all of our products and would recommend you return the unused cans to the place of purchase for a refund or exchange.

Great addition to the metabolic kibble. My golden retriever loves the combination.

Loki has been on the Metabolic weight dry food for 3-4 years and loved it from the start. He is my little rescue and want him on the best food so I asked vet to put him on that. When I rescued him I got his teeth cleaned and he had 17 teeth pulled but that did not stop him, once his mouth healed, from chewing this food. No problem. He recently lost his big canine and as a treat in his diet I asked my wonderful new vet for a script on the wet food too. He has dry food in morning and wet food around 5p.m. Today was his first day on the wet and he lived it. Any other wet food I ever gave him he walked away from it. But not this. Hills prescriptive food has been so good for him cause he use to have a squeaky stomach and trouble having a bowel movement. Since he has been on Hills food not once has he had any kind of stomach upset. I highly recommend, even for your fussy eater.
