Cat liked the taste, but too difficult to chew

Coco's Human

Initially, my slightly overweight cat with FIC really liked this food and ate it with relish. For 2 days. After that, she refused it. I did note she was having trouble chewing the kibble. I actually did what another reviewer did and tried to break up the kibble into smaller bits. It was nearly impossible to do so without ending up with powder. The kibble is larger than others and is hard as a rock. I actually thought my cat might break her teeth. She gave up on it anyway. I will have to return it, sadly. She did love the flavor. Hills, maybe you can figure out how to improve this food?

Food hard as a rock

I cannot find anyone that has stock of the w/d version so my vet suggested this food. The kibble size is larger than the w/d which i at first thought was the reason my cat wasn’t eating as much. Then I actually examined the food - it is very hard and the real reason he wasn’t eating. I had to take a hammer to the food to break it up and even that was difficult. This version needs improvement if you are no longer making the w/d.

The only reason I didn’t give a 5 is because I really need the 12lb bag. It’s so much more cost effective. It tends to be out if stock often costing ALOT more for the consumer.

Yes, I recommend this product.

I was recommended this cat food from a Veterinarian after my cat was sick and I saw improvement within the first weeks. I like that it helps with weight management and after about 3 weeks my fat cat has been eating this I noticed he lost some weight. It must taste good for them because my 2 cats seem to like it. My recommendation if you’re ordering this cat food to assist with any illnesses or conditions is to order before you run out of what you already have because I had an issue with FedEx who delivered it 5 business days later. I also like the size of the food (not too small) so my cat has to eat slowly and more calm instead of eating like a t-Rex.

Yes, I recommend this product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] 3 months after our vet put our cat on this food she became a diabetic. She said it would help with her stress and UTI issues.

Why is it not available?

This product has been amazing at helping my cat lose and maintain wait and decreased his UTI episodes. However, I am really disappointed by the company for not having it back on stock for almost 8 months now. We switched to another c/d but my cat gained weight. Is there any reason why is this not produced? Is hill going to discontinue this?

why is this out of stock everywhere? I am so confused. My cat needs both c/d and weight management food and its really disappointing to suddenly not be able to find her food

  1. Yes it does. But it's been out of stock for a year now! (Since Covid)

Does it also help cats with constipation?

  1. no , only weight loss and urinary issues unless your vet tells you otherwise.
