My dog has kidney disease. She's on hills kd diet but refuse to eat it without meat. What is the best meat for her to have?
Kidney disease dog on renal support diet, she eats only 1 cup twice a day along with her meds and is gaining so much weight. is it diet?
Bella has kidney disease, and won't eat prescription diet hill's I would like to start cooking a diet any idea
my 12 year old cat was recently diagnosed with early stages of kidney disease. i had her eating the dry food from Hills K/D and she was ok with that. Then i moved her to the wet food because she stopped eating the dry. now she’ll eat the wet food for a day or so and then refuses. the only food she never misses a meal is fancy feast pate and blue buffalo healthy gourmet pate. i know commercial food isn’t great, but are either of these foods near the percentile a kidney cat needs?
What would be the best wet dog food for her weighing 3.3 lbs. 4 years and has Periodontal desease? And can I purchase at Petco or Petsmart? Thank you
My 3 year old 23lb. male corgi has a history of developing cystine crystals in his urinary tract and was put on Hill's U/D canned food as a result. I have been reading online about alkaline diets and was wondering if we could prepare food for him at home that would be sufficient in preventing the formation of the cystine crystals. The food he is on currently is very expensive ($42-$46 every 12 days). How can we determine the correct amount of homemade food or his weight and breed?
I want to know what the correct nutrition and the types of food I give my dog who has a problem in the kidneys except the dry food Because I will give him 6 days in the week of dry food for kidney problems
We have a 25 lb labradoodle that must eat hills prescription diet w/d. She has slowly gotten tired of the food and we have been adding bits of chicken and even hamburger to get her to eat. That has been successful but is now wearing off to the point where all she wants is the meat. Any suggestions as to how to entice her to eat? She is healthy otherwise.
Kindly, What is the correct nutrition for my dog who has kidney problems?
I currently feed my male dog prescription Hill's z/d dry dog food I get from his vet. My female dog, who is on a normal food diet and does not need z/d food, wants to eat only the male's z/d food. It is challenging keeping them separated at meal time. Is there a comparable non-prescription food I can feed my female from Hill's that I can buy from Petco at a (considerably) lower price than the z/d?
One of our male cats recdently had a blockage and we had to take him to emergency. We got there in the nick of time, he was going into kidney failure! Naturally he now has to be on special prescription food. The Hill's c/d he doesn't like at all. The Royal Canin he tolerates but will hardly eat it. I always try to mix something else in but it's just a chore to get him to eat now and the poor guy is hungry. He does love Royal Canin's dry SO food and treats. What else can I feed him?
I have a 16 year old Rat Terrier named Riley who has kidney disease. I cannot get him to eat the dry or wet kidney diet. He absolutely refuses it regardless of how I doctor it up. I don't know what to do about it and I want him to have a good life but his kidney numbers are sky high. He's active and happy otherwise. Also, what treats can I give him?
