vet recommended kidney care for our 13 year old with kidney failure, she loves it and it has brought her "numbers" up! She has always been a picky eater and was not eating anything, so a miracle for her! Thank you

Trying to keep my dog healthy

I would give this 5 stars, but I haven't personally analyzed the ingredients for their effect on the kidneys. My dog like the food, but we haven't had recent blood work to see if his kidney function remains stable. I don't mean to sound so negative, but I worry a lot about my dog's condition. My dog prefers the stew version to the more solid kidney care canned food. We started with the kidney care kibble since we've always fed kibble. But for whatever reason the dog now like a mix! He's 14 and we just do what he prefers so he will eat. This food is not cheap, but the savings on repeat delivery orders helps.

Yes, I recommend this product.

We have been delighted with the Prescription diet k/d for our Sheltie that has developed kidney disease and high blood pressure. He absolutely loves it! It has been great that he readily accepted something that is medicine for him..

This is relatively new to our feed. It is hard to tell just yet how it will impact their health. They seem to like the Hills kidney care chicken & Veggie stew.

No, I do not recommend this product.

The vet recommended this to us for our Sheltie who is in Stage 2 Kidney failure. He suggested we gradually introduce it. Ha! He absolutely devoured it! He begs for more!

Bogus Petco Online Coupons

Worthless coupons

Good product. Problem is the Petco website sucks with their bogus online coupons that don’t work in the store, so then you pay full price. Cashiers are like, oh well, sorry. Really? Why not just order from Chewy? Much more reliable.

Yes, I recommend this product.

My dog was diagnosed with kidney failure and this food has helped tremendously! It’s a bit pricey though that’s the only reason for 4 out of 5 stars.

Yes, I recommend this product.

how much do you give a 4.5 lb yorkie?

  1. About 1/2 cup 3times a day

How much do you give a 30lb. dog a day?

  1. If all you are giving your dog is the canned, I would limit to 1/2 can day and supplement with some of the k/d dry. I had a 60 pound lab (before she passed a month ago) and I fed her 1/2 cup dry + 1/2 can wet twice a day. Typically dogs lose weight on this diet; mine did not in the beginning but after many short walks a day, she burned off this much food easily.
