Biome works

Gcodion

I have Irish wolfhounds and their sensitive stomachs get them in trouble when they are ravenous for everything they consider edible. Biome keeps them from blowouts and runny stools.

Yes, I recommend this product.

My dog finally eats and feels better!

DoodleMama

As soon as I started feeding my 1-1/2 year old Australian Labradoodle Hills stew and kibble food, his digestive problems disappeared. He loves the canned chicken stew. I add a few kibbles to the stew and I also use the kibbles as a snack. For the first time his bowels are normal - no diarrhea - and his disposition is so much better because his stomach is happy.

Yes, I recommend this product.

We need kibble size suited for large breed

RottieLover

My dog was prescribed this for Chronic issues but the problem is he can barely eat it because if how tiny the kibble is. He doesn’t even have to chew the food, at 128 pounds and a big head Rottie he def needs a kibble size that is suited for a large/giant breed dog. We will do what we can with it but I beg Hills to make some versions of these prescription foods for large/giant breed like they do there commercial diets. kibble size does make a huge difference for our big fur babies.

This Changed my Dog's Life!

SamD

We rescued our pup and within a few months, he started having severe, unexplained GI issues. We tried EVERYTHING - x-rays, ultrasounds, every blood test you could think of (multiple times), antibiotics, probiotics, over-the-counter meds, diet trials with a veterinary nutritionist, consults with 4 different vets, surgery to take biopsies, etc - and were honestly running out of options. His vet recommended this food on a whim and within 12 hrs, his diarrhea completely stopped, he was no longer vomitting, his bloating (which was so bad his vet thought at one point that he had GDV) was gone, and he began gaining much-needed weight. This food changed (and maybe saved?) my dog's life. Though we never figured out the root cause of his issues, I am okay with that because this food has made all of the difference. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you Hill's!

Great product

This food is incredible. Our Shiloh shepherd had serious gastro issues and was in vet hospital for 5 days. She would ear nothing except the cat equivalent of this food. When discharged, we moved to the biome dog food ( a mix of wet and kibble) and it has been 100% effective. Great product.

Cured loosies overnight after bout with clostrida for 2 months on my 5 month old lab. Trying to transition back to proplan. This is too low protein and fat for a puppy.

My dog has a super sensitive GI and will have diarrhea if he even looks at food he’s not used to. This food has made such a positive difference for him and keeps his stool regular.

Is the size of the kibble suitable for French bulldogs?

  1. The kibble is round and flat, about half the diameter of a penny.  We feed it to our Weimaraners, and they barely chew it at all.  I am not sure what size French Bulldogs need, but it is no bigger than kibble you would feed a small poodle.

My dog has been on canned ID low fat food and has had past pancreatitis.  Want to try Biome canned food to firm up stools more.   Is it low enough fat enough for my dog and will extra fiber be ok?

    1. Yes this was recommended by my vet for my dog with pancreatitis and she has done great on it

Does it comes in small bites? My dog is a 10 pound chihuahua

    1. The bites are small even though there is a German Shepard on the package.  I have an old 16 year old 10 pound dog with a number of teeth missing and a 16 pound 8 year old dog.  Both eat it with no problem. I like to add a tablespoon of the moist (same brand) with it as they think that's special

What are the kcal/cup for Hill's Prescription Diet Gastrointestinal Biome Chicken Flavor Dry Dog Food?

What dog treats work well with the gastrointestinal biome food?

I have a $10 off coupon I received from Hill's Science diet for this food. How do I apply this coupon for an online order?

        1. you can't. call customer service.

My dog has a suspected chicken sensitivity. This food has been suggested to assist with resolving an episode of acute gastroenteritis; will the fact that this is chicken flavored make this counter productive?

        1. Thank you for your inquiry. Our Prescription Diet Gastrointestinal Biome formula actively promotes regular healthy stool and helps reduce risk of future episodes. It is not intended for a pet that has a chicken allergy. We hope this is helpful. Hill's Pet Nutrition

How much a day would you feed a 67 lb dog?

        1. Thank you for your question. We recommend feeding 4 & 1/3 cups per day to a 67 pound dog. However, this feeding amount is intended only as a starting point. It's critical to your pet's health that his or her physical condition be monitored regularly and the feeding amount adjusted as needed. Hill's Pet Nutrition

Will a dog treat be developed that is compatible with this dog food? What can I add to this kibble for a little variety? What can I give my dog, other than a bit of the kibble by hand, to satisfy her desire for a treat?

        1. Thank you for your question. At this time, we do not offer a treat to go along with this product, however, we will be glad to make the suggestion for that product to the company on your behalf. Our products are formulated to be 100% nutritionally complete and address your pet's special needs. When you mix Hill's products or mix another brand of pet food/treats with our products, you may minimize these benefits. Hill's Pet Nutrition
