We have three retrievers and they all love the freedom to go in and out at will, day or night (backyard is about a half acre surrounded by a seven foot fence to keep dogs in and deer and other critters out.) The very annoying and costly problem is with the digital electronic units. We had one MS-4 unit that worked well for several weeks until the base of the unit fell off and was never recovered... the collar half of the MS-4 unit was still on the dog, but the lower half of the electronic unit was lost. That problem was cured by using the MS-5 units which have a screw that holds the two halves together. We have since had two of the MS-5 units damage from dogs biting or tugging on the electronic unit while playing. If anyone has developed a way to protect electronic unit during play, please advise, as we love the system, but the electronic units are too fragile for medium size or larger dogs. and replacing the $50 units on a regular basis is costly. Our dogs are 50 to 70 lbs and the units are not up to their play.

I have had this door for more than two years, used it with two large dogs, worked beautifully. Both dogs were put down and I put the collar on a new pup and it didn't work. Even after adding a new battery. Bought a new collar and now the door only works if I use the button on the panel. Customer support was poor. Problem has not been corrected.

I 1st bought the regular high Tech dog door and really enjoyed it. One thing I wished for was that I didn't have to get out of bed to turn it on so I could let the dogs out early in the morning to start the day. Then they came up with the Wi-Fi unit which I promptly bought And it's great, You can just set it for specific times or have it open with a push of the button in bed. My dogs kept chewing off the callers callers for the remote so I found heavy duty zip ties attaching it to their callers worked best for me. It keeps the cold air out in the Winter and my AC in in the summer. The dogs love being able to go in-and-out whenever they want!

We have been using this controller with the corresponding pet door for several months, and could not be more pleased. Our dog learned how to operate the system in no time, and our indoor cat stays safely inside.

The straps easily break and then it gets chewed. I've replaced 2 in 1 week

Unfortunately we have had to purchase 3 in the past year. Poor quality and Petco shipping is terrible! Have to have since we have the door. Door is great.

My dog is always getting in the pool, and it still works :)
