So we are going to use a remote collar to train the puppy to never chew the chainlink fence she doesn’t do it often . A trainer on YouTube Solidk9 training recommended. I think it’s better to have a mild stem correction than broken teeth one day. Also going to use to work on her recall she is 80% reliable everywhere but backyard that’s 10% she comes back. What brands on amazon are good? And how do I condition her to the collar?
So my puppy chews her fencing of her dog run. A high respected trainer recommended a remote stem collar, as it isn’t SA as she doesn’t care about me when she comes out just wants to sniff and play outside, so what I’m going to do is have someone leave in a car and stay and if she chews the run she gets a stem, the trainer said she trained a few dogs with same issue and fixed within a week -2. I got Esky Dog Shock collar a good brand? Is this mean? I think it’s crueler to let her break her teeth
Are underground fences a good affordable option for 2 pitbulls? How safe are the shock collars longer-term?
After speaking with our veterinarian I was able to train my dog not to run up to people or other dogs while off leash by using premium treats outside and less premium treats while indoors. My current issue is shes running into our neighbours backyard (new subdivision, no yard/fences etc.) because they throw food back there. I don’t drive and there’s no dog park nearby. I want her to run and play ball. Do you think it would be a bad idea to get a remote shock collar?
Hey, I’m tired of seeing my dogs on chains and I can’t really put them in the house (no room). I was thinking about getting shock collars & underground fence for all of them. I have two boys and girl. The only thing I’m worried about is the two boys fighting. When they were puppies they fought a lot that’s why I separated them. Do you think since they’re older and neutered they’ll be less likely to fight? They’re 2.5 yrs old. I want to keep all of them together without them killing each other.
We have a huge fenced in dog kennel about 30 feet from our house and our dogs go in it to use the bathroom. But when we take them out without leashes they run away. We already tried electric collers. Building a fence to the kennel is not an option. How do we do this???
Hey, I was thinking about using shock collars on my dogs for containment. As of right now they stay on chains, but i want them to have more room to run around. When they were young they’d fight over food or they would mess with one another by barking or dominance. Do you think this would be a good idea? I just dont want them fighting. Its the momma dog (7) and the siblings which are almost 2.
After exhaustive cleaning, our cat continues to mark indoors. Have you found indoor electric fences helpful?
Today We tried a perimeter shock collar on our kangal (anatolian shephard) because he like to kill poultry and small animals such as possums and ground hogs. He keep jumping the fence and this seemed to be our only option. I checked on him all day. This afternoon I saw another dog at the fence (possibly a female). He is an altered male. When I called him to the porch his penis was swollen, exposed and bloody. I assume he just got overly excited due to the new dog coming around. now 5pm it is sti
I have two neutered cats who love being outside. We live in a mountainous area with wildlife, so we are trying to keep them inside but they learned how to open doors. We are trying to decide b/w a wireless pet fence in our yard where they wear large-ish shock collars (even though they are smaller for cats) all the time as the company says not to wear for more than 12 hours or to just put cat trackers on them and find them every night. Which is safer?
My 5 yr old chihuahua/miniature doberman very aggressive and growls at times. Would a shock collar help with that?
Could you please recommend an activity tracker for my puppy (one that does not require a monthly subscription)?
