While introducing a new food to your rabbit, gradually mix Sunburst with your pet%s old diet. Increase the amount of Sunburst over a period of 7 to 10 days. This will allow your pet to adjust to the new food and it will prevent any upset to your pet's digestive system. Feed your rabbit .25 to 1 cup of Sunburst per day depending on the age of your rabbit. Always regulate the food portion to maintain your pet's weight and if feeding multiple rabbits. A pregnant or lactating female will sometimes eat 2 to 3 times as much as a normal adult. It is important to store food in a dry, sealed container in a temperature-controlled location away from the light. Remove and discard uneaten food everyday and clean bowl prior to refilling it. Always maintain fresh drinking water near your pet's food container.Store in a cool, dry place free of insects and humidity. Refrigerate for extended storage.

Naturally Selected Ingredients

The rabbit food I bought is good, Higgins products usually are. However, the main ingredient is Alfalfa meal. My rabbit is 8 yrs old and alfalfa products should only be given as treats, not main diet. I also buy Vita Prima which has ground Timothy grass hay as first ingredient, a better choice, but you were out of stock the night I was there. Also only given as treats. I won't buy any other brands for my rabbit, other than Oxbow Senior (main diet) as most others have too many processed treats, all different colors, some toxic. I really like the Selective Natural treats, I think they are the most wholesome and do not like Oxbow's brand, too many worrisome ingredients. I would like to add that the cashier was not trained properly in selling small animals. She allowed the sale of a female hamster to a customer who already has a female and wanted another as a companion. I spoke up and made comment that they most likely would fight and cashier's answer was that it would be OK as it would be putting together two females. To my knowledge, hamsters are solitary, territorial animals and this would not work. Customer was concerned and stated he would look that information up and bought the hamster anyway. I don't know the outcome, but the cashier was brand new and not educated properly re not bonding hamsters. Including this because I thought you should know and train employees more thoroughly before putting them up front in a position where the sold animal might come to harm or be returned. Also, shouldn't information be given to customers on owning hamsters and their needs, what to do, what not to do?

A Great Topping Finish to the Meal!!

Hello! Higgins Sunburst for Wabbits is a great product. Higgins products are all done well with 'clean' ingredients. When I make my Wabbit, Mokita's (and Maize before him) twice a day Meals, I top it off with a generous finger-grab of Sunburst on top. Mokita (and Maize) totally think it Makes the Meal. Thanks Higgins, great product! :))

Yes, I recommend this product.

My lionhead lop rabbit is 10 years old and is a super picky eater. He does not like hay and does not like plain pellets. We tried several different brands and Sunburst is his favorite. He loves the dried fruit the best. I’m so happy Petco carries it.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Where is this made?

We have a wild rabbit living under our shed, can we feed him, or should we feed him?If we can what do you recommend?

    1. Thats so cute! but I wouldn't recommend this, I recommend dome fresh lettuce! romaine lettuce is always a safe choice

Can’t a young rabbit that is 14 weeks old  eat this?

    1. I wouldn’t see why not. I’m not a vet but owned a rabbit since it was old enough to be away from Momma and I have always feed him this food. He is 8 years old.
