I have a 35 year old African Grey, Scrappy, who just loves her peanuts. These peanuts are clean and ready for your bird to open the shells. These really passed the test as she ate them without any complaints.

Beware of bug infestation

I bought this a month ago not realizing that the bag was infested with some kind of bug eggs. I kind of forgot I had bought it and I never opened it or gave any of the peanuts to my pet so the bag was still completely sealed. I started noticing some weird little moths in my bedroom but I thought they were coming in from outside so I had just been killing them as I saw them. Fast forward to this morning and I noticed maggots ALL OVER MY WALL. They had chewed a massive hole through the sealed peanut bag and were crawling around all over the area of my room that I was storing the bag in. The bag was COMPLETELY UNOPENED. Anyway, I had to throw away about $250 worth of pet supplies that the maggots either chewed on or were crawling all over and I've been cleaning for hours so I would be cautious before purchasing this item.

Can these be fed to squirrels as well?

    Absolutely. But these are substantially more expensive than other raw in-shell peanuts because these are premium grade intended for parrots. Parrots are extremely sensitive to fungal spores that commonly develop in peanuts. The spores don’t hurt humans or other animals but cause lung infections in parrots. So the manufacturer of these peanuts takes extra measures to insure these are safe for parrots. You can feed squirrels any type of unsalted bulk peanut, even roasted ones.
