I bought a dry food for stela's puppy who is 3 months. Its labeled that it contain 32% of corn protein. Is that ok for a growing puppy? Or it should be animal protein?
Is it more likely for dog food with grains in it to be infested with bugs or can this happen to any dog food? Please explain. I'm thinking of switching my dogs food so something with grains and I'm wondering if this will store well.

I want to know the best option for puppy food. I'm currently feeding soild gold wolf cub for large breed puppies. The crude protein is 26.0%. I'm trying to figure out whether I should continue feeding the current brand or adjust to something with higher or lower protein. This food is potatoe free. Should I be more concerned with switching to grain free or is what I'm currently feeding okay?

My 10 yr old lab lost 6 lbs when taken off dry food. He gets homecooked. Alternating between lean ground beef, turkey, white meat chicken. Veggies Sweet potatoes, yellow squash, green beans. He was a perfect weight. Elimating 1 cup of dry food per day added to homecooked was meant to be a healthy choice not for weight loss. Vet wants him to put the weight back. I have a 5 year old, 75lb Catahoula leopard mix. He doesn't seem to like any dog food. Ever since he had a liver issue a year ago, he's been weird with eating. Before he would gulp his food down. He also seems to have a sensitive stomach now. I've tried merrick LI with goats milk and crumpled treats on top. It worked at first very well but now he doesn't want it. I've tried a different, more palatable, Elm in 3 flavors-lamb duck and salmon. Doesn't want any of them. Warm water doesn't work ether

I'm not sure what to be feeding my puppy. He is 5 months old and weighs about 40 lbs. We were told his mother is Aussie and Border Collie mix while dad is Kelpie and lab mix. We have tried some different foods and have disliked some of them. Beef is not an option for him - causes digestion issues. Is grain-free good/bad? I've read both: good for fiber sources but bad, may be linked to heart disease. Are by-product meals as bad as people think they are? I need affordable: one dollar/lb or less.
