I switched my dogs to Halo from Natural Balance vegetarian. Halo has better ingredients. It has a lighter smell...less obnoxious smell to it. My littlest dog had refused the Natural Balance a number of times....I’m so glad I switched as he likes the Halo.

I started feeding this wet food again to my 2 small, old rescues after my 16 year old dog got HGE and nearly died. The vet sold me 3 cans of Royal Canin Gastrointestinal. My pup ate a bit at the vet's but would not eat it when I got her home. My other dog wouldn't eat it either. I'm a 50 year vegetarian and feed my dogs veg kibble and treats, and also fresh food. The ingredients in Halo Vegan, though not organic, are real food, not pork by-products as in the other food. Both dogs immediately gobbled up the Halo. It's a very dense food. My neighbor gave me cans of Nature's Recipe vegan stew, which got me through until the Halo arrived. The stew is more gravy-like. The dogs liked it too. I think I may alternate buying the two brands. Halo is higher priced.

My dog has been eating Halo his whole life, and the vegan canned food for 3 years after he was diagnosed with bladder stones. I didn't want to give him the kidney formulas my vet recommended because of all the chemicals in them, so I switched from the kibble to canned for increased water content, and lower protein. While I obviously can't make any claims for the food working for cysteine stones like my dog had, it has been working him and my dog LOVES it! I've been vegan for 12 years, so it is nice to be able to give my dog high quality food as well. I wish it weren't as expensive, seeing as I spend $90 a month to feed my 5# dog, which is almost as much as I spend on food for myself, but it is totally worth it knowing that it is keeping him healthy and happy.

My dog usually has a sensitive stomach and gets sick when he eats anything! This didn’t do that to him! And I’ve tried other flavors from this brand halo and it doesn’t trigger his sensitivities! So I love this brand! It’s amazing.

My four dogs love it! I have tried other Vegan wet dog food and Halo is by far the best! It is not too dry and the taste must be great (I have not personally tried it). It is perfect for giving my older dog her med's with a heaping tablespoon of Halo Vegan Wet food.
