Using the chart on the package, divide the total cups per day by the total number of times you feed your cat per day to determine the portion size for each meal. Keep a clean bowl of fresh water available at all times. Every cat is a little different, so optimal feeding amounts may vary with age, size and activity level. Please use the information on the feeding chart as an initial recommendation only and adjust when needed. Dry and wet food in combination will help to increase the level of water in your cat's diet. If feeding with wet food, reduce dry amount by 1/2 cup for every 6 oz. of wet food. Transitioning: Gradually mix in Halo Elevate over a 5-7 day period, increasing the amount each day.

Questions
I've been feeding my cats another brand that seems to be no longer available. My male has kidney issues and my female is sensitive to fillers. I am considering transitioning to this before I run out of the current food. Thoughts?
- My cats are from same litter and sensitive stomachs & allergies. Definitely NO rabbit for them. They have done ok on HALO. Took 1 a little to adjust but they have done well. Oddly I get 10 # bags & had to get 6# bag when stock low. Shouldn't be different but had bad bag? I guess for her so stopped & finally got another 10# bag and she was fine??? Not sure about kidney issues???

I've bought three bags of food over the last two weeks. One of them was the original color/size and two were darker brown and smelled different. My cat won't eat the brown ones, is this just a weird batch or have you changed the recipe?
- The size and shape is just the way they extrude the food when processed the color darker brown and lighter is just the different proteins the food is still the same recipe I have been using halo for years

Is this food good for cats with allergies? We currently have our cat on hypoallergenic food, but she still itches constantly and has sores on her mouth. Trying to find a better fit for her.
- Dear Kaitlyn1223, Thank you for coming to us with your question. Pet food allergies are often protein related which is one reason why most Halo diets are formulated with a single species protein such as turkey and turkey liver, chicken and chicken liver, or fish combinations, so if your dog has a chicken allergy, for example, you can choose one of the other protein formulas. Also, all Halo diets are formulated to be free of animals raised with antibiotics, artificial colors, flavors or preservatives. Whole grain and grain free recipes are also available. Halo can be a good choice because in a natural diet like Halo’s, artificial ingredients and rendered “meat meals”—which may be contributors to allergies—will be avoided and thus lessen the potential for adverse food reactions. Pets may also react to artificial dyes, preservatives and additives in food, which are not found in any Halo recipe. Also, having grain free dog or cat foods gives you a choice if you suspect your pet has grain allergies. Grain free diets do include carbohydrates such as potatoes and beans. Halo's grain free diets include complex carbohydrates as either starches or fiber, which digest more slowly and are absorbed and utilized by your pet. Hope this helps you. If you have any other questions, feel free to contact us directly at 1-800-426-4256. Halo, Purely for Pets 7/19/18.

What do you recommend for a 17 yr old inside cat
- Any of the Soulistic pouch varieties. I have 7 cats all ranging in age and they all love them. It is real food with quality ingredients. As far as dry food goes, give her kitten chow. Kitten food has a higher fat content than regular cat food so it will help her pick up weight.
