She is not eating the Natural chicken and sweet potato cans I ordered. She is almost 14 years old. I have tried most of the Senior diet but the chicken and barley makes her belly bloat. She eats canned but due to several teeth removed cannot eat dry. She is a dachshund of normal weight and good health. She is still an active walker.

What is the best food to feed a 55-pound highly active hound? I was told to switch to grain free, but her stool has been mucous like and runny. I've tried Redford Naturals Limited Ingredient (I've tried chicken, beef, sweet potato) and American Journey Limited ingredient (lamb). I have decided to prepare Nala's food at home as opposed to store bought dog food. What would I need to add to a recipe containing following: Beef Liver 3lbs Lamb Hearts 2lbs Beef Tripe 1lb Ground Chicken 5 lbs Water - as need to incorporate beef stew bones 3lbs Brussel Sprouts .5 lb Butternut Squash 1lb Pink Himalayan Salt- 1 tbl I did cook all of this, although I know that raw is better, and then ground it all together.
