Worked great but...

I bought this around 3 months ago for my 20 gal saltwater tank. It worked great for a month or two then I had it unplugged and taken out of the tank so I could clean it. After a week or so I put it back into the tank and there was no response from the wave maker. This is really disappointing and now I will need to buy another wave maker before purchasing my clownfish pair.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Works great for my 20 gallon tank with two 2.5 inch ranchus gold fish. Doesn't put too much movement, but just enough to generate circulation of water and surface agitation.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Horrible!!!!!

I bought this a few days ago and it is the worst product by far. The suction cup doesn’t have a tab so it’s really hard to get it off the glass no way to release suction. Sliding it to a corner is the best bet. Also if you go to move it up it only goes so far up cause the cord then it’ll pop off the suction and it’s even more irritating. It’s super finicky but it will work.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Good for Nano Tanks 10 Gallons or less

On the plus side; the CP1 is compact, very quiet and the intake slots are small enough so tiny fish can't get sucked in. BUT, I gave it 3 stars because the water flow is underwhelming for a pump that says it's good for up to a 15 gallon tank. Especially since the box says it's "Compact and Powerful" but I find only the latter is true. Yes it is compact but it is not powerful enough for a 15 gallon tank that is 24 inches "Long". Maybe Fluval meant it was good for a 15 gallon "Tall" tank which is not as wide as a "Long" 15 gallon?. Since the flow from this pump is barely felt beyond 12-16 inches, barely the length of a 10 gallon tank. So I don't recommend it if you want a pump that will stir things around and push water toward a filter. It's more of a gently current similar to flow from the outlet tube of a small canister filter. The other reason I bought this pump, assuming it was powerful enough for a 15 gal, was because of the 265 GPH it's rated for. I have a comparable size pump from a different manufacturer, in my 20 gallon and that one is only rated at 256 GPH yet the flow is powerful enough that I can actually see the water circulation bouncing off the opposite side of the tank and back.

No, I do not recommend this product.

I have this in my planted 5 gal Freshwater tank and have used it for about 3 months. No issues. It is strong, so play around with the positioning. I have this on a timer so its not on all the time. I would recommend an air stone if you only need minimal circulation. This will uproot plants if you aren’t careful.

Yes, I recommend this product.
