Green Cheek Conure (Pyrrhura molinae)
Description
Green cheek conures are highly inquisitive, bold, and engaging birds. Like other conures, they can be playful and affectionate. Their voices are softer than many Conures.
- - Thrive on frequent human interaction, so be sure to set aside time for your companion each day
- - Although not known for their talking ability, this does not deter them from trying to mimic their pet parent
- - Enjoy a mixture of toys for foraging and chewing, which provide important mental stimulation
- - Ensure toys are strongly attached as they can unscrew c-clamps, which can cause injury
- - Green cheek conures can be kept alone to bond with pet parent or in pairs to bond with each other. Different types of birds should not be housed together
- - Birds should be socialized daily by the pet parent

A well-balanced conure diet consists of specialized pellets (should make up 60 to 70% of diet), plus fresh vegetables, fruits and small amounts of fortified seeds. Fresh food and water should always be available. Vegetables and fruits not eaten within a few hours should be discarded.
Avoid non-stick cookware and appliances, as well as cleaning agents, as they can release fumes hazardous to your bird's health.
